I am not sure what these patents add to the ones already out there.
I dont know what is new with these patents, but the fact that they keep on filing them shows they are working on improvements.

I took a look at the first one, and I'm with you on that one Lawrence. I've seen so many patents they are all blurred at this point. Anybody know what significance these have?

I believe these are patents that were originally posted as "patent applications" that have now been granted after review.
They seem more related to the IBOT than Segway

This patent is idential to US 6,343,664 DEKA "Operating modes for stair climbing in a cluster-wheel vehicle" except for some corrected typos and the removal of the reference to US 6,003,624 Jorgensen, et al. "Stabilizing wheeled passenger carrier capable of traversing stairs" (http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect2=PTO1&Sect2=HITOFF&p=1&u=%2Fnetahtml%2Fsearch-bool.html&r=1&f=G&l=50&d=PALL&RefSrch=yes&Query=PN%2F6003624)
