A "Off Board Charger" has been posted to the available accessories on Segway.com!

Also, it says "It can be used for all Segway HT battery types." -- does this mean that new batteries will be available soon?!?

http://www.segway.com/segway/accessories.html

MSRP: $295.00

"The off board charger is an external battery charger that allows you to charge spare batteries for use in your Segway HT. It can be used for all Segway HT battery types. Includes power cord and instructions."

Exciting stuff!

They're probably referring to the Metro batteries (smaller than I-Series).

I just got off the phone with Segway Sales. The new charger and additional batteries are now available, however additional batteries won't ship for 8 weeks. Yes 2 months. They blame it on backorders.

Each additional battery is $295.00 US. The charger will charge 2 batteries simultaneously. So for roughly $900 bucks you won't have to wait while recharging.

Remember not to mix battery types when your charging. Not that you can now, but in the future.

segboy, their battery shipments are going towards new machines and repairs.

Cool - with the announcement of these things we know we're getting close to the other accessories, including LIGHTS!

You guys can't even wait a few hours between charges? Do you live on your HTs or what? ;)

I wonder if they'll include wing bolts to make it a little easier to swap batteries. As is, it's about as easy as swapping your car battery.

I'd rather wait for the Lithium Ion packs. Wonder if the charger they're offering will support them too.

Segwayowner, try clearing the cache on your browser ... I had the same problem. Tools/Internet Options/Delete Files/Delete All Offline Content. You'll see it after doing this.
