Thanks PT. I wasn't sure how to post all of that,
good job as usual. I talked with the reporter about
posting a reward but we couldn't figure out the right
way to do it. There certainly would be a reward for
information leading to the return of the HT...

That was a great article by the King County Journal. You can believe no one around your area will dare try and do anything with your Seg. When and if it is found, make sure it's checked for prints. Who ever took it had to pick it up by the bottom of the platform, so there will probably be some prints somewhere. I'm sure you know who you've given demos to, so they would not be able to explain how their prints got on the bottom of your Seg. Still hoping you get your glider back soon.

Nice frank.

But, hey, doesn't the missing segway have black wheels?

Good point!

We need either a more recent photo of the missing Seg or a good police sketch ;)

No good news yet, on my stolen HT. Just want to let all
of you know, be sure to check on your insurance. I had thought
that I was covered by my house hold insurance with State Farm.
I was informed today, they will not cover it. I've been on the
phone with them for most of the week. I lost...
Now I'm in contact with Master Card. I'm hopeing, with them
and Segway, I will be covered for theft. So far, it sounds
promising...
But, I am still active in the area, trying to locate the HT
and am still thinking Positive... Gary

Gary,
Sorry to hear your HT was stolen. They probably ditched it somewhere realizing it's (as pt said before) a dead paper weight. I have an idea, print out the picture from the home page of SegwayChat.com and post around your town. Someone MUST have seen something!

Good luck man,

All green and smiling in St. Louis.

If your coverage is anything like mine, you should be covered since the device was on your property. Get your policy and read it over with a fine tooth comb! From the limited knowledge of how/where you secured the HT, I would expect it to be covered.

You might even have a quick consult with a lawyer about this if you can't change the insurance company's mind.

With the good help of PT, I have printed up a bunch
of posters (similiar to the pic on the site) and will
be posting around the area today. With the help of
friends, it will get some good coverage.
Still thinking positive - Gary

If and when I get my HT back (the local police think it
will show up) I definately will do a better job of locking
it up, and I think a motion detector will be a must...
I am still working on the insurance coverage. I had thought
I was covered by my home owners, State Farm. They say not...
Also checking into coverage by Master Card. Wish me luck.
There has been quite a lot of local media coverage and I
have reward posters out and about.
Still thinking positive... Gary

Regret hearing about the first stolen Segway. I live in a suburban area of Detroit. When I first went shopping today at a local supermarket (small) an employee on break outside told me I'd better lock it up! From now on I lock it up and get insurance. gclark

So, how's the insurance angle working out? I included theft insurace on the special policy I got with Allstate.

Just a question, can't they get new keys if they know the serial number, owner name & address?. But other than that good luck on getting it back. Hopefully you had insurance!

segme-

the people who stole it would need to know the person's name, exact address, and other info (credit card it was paid for with etc)...segway also know that this ht was stolen, so if anyone called, they would alert the police.

cheers,
pt

Looks like the police report for the stolen Segway has made it's way to the "Smoking Gun" website. Hopefully the upside of this is that it will help in efforts to locate it...
