Well if you must know, on 29 March 2003 myself, Brooster, Lady Broo and MrTechno attended the 2003 First Robotics Competition, Midwest Regional at Northwestern University in Evanston (on the border of Chicago). The only way to describe it was AWESOME and I will be attending again. Thanks to Lady Broo I even learned how to score.
We were treated like part of the Kings court. We were fed and even sat next to the judges right near the pit. It was just great. Also, a Special Thanks to Gloria Jean Hoppert, of Masterfoods USA. She ran the show and was great.
Well believe it or not I did SEVENTY THREE DEMOS (73), I know because I got most of them to sign The GlideMaster Journal. There were still about ten that got away without signing. So make it about EIGHTY-THREE (83). Boy were those under sixteen mad.
What is The GlideMaster Journal? Right now it is just one red leather bound journal with 192 gold trimmed pages. What I do is, anyone who is lucky enough to take a glide on my SeaHorse is asked to sign my journal stating how they liked or disliked their gliding experience. When I start the second Journal it will be The GlideMaster Journals and I'm working on The Journeys Of A GlideMaster.

Yessir Glide-Master, it was great, wasn't it? I think we're all FIRST supporters now. Big thanks also to Bruce Mueller of Motorola Labs, who helped make it all happen for the Chicago Segway Ambassadors. The whole Midwest Regional Committee really rolled out the red carpet for us.
What a wonderful experience ... And yes, LadyBroo really knows her stuff when it comes to the Stack Attack! We look forward to being volunteers for next year's event.
Everyone loved the Segway HT. SegwayChat's original end-user, GlideMaster, was the Ambassador of the day, no doubt about it.
Please take some time to learn about FIRST, folks. You'll be glad you did.

Thanks Tom, now if I just knew which one of the one hundred (100) people you were with the camera. You never know who's watching you.

We had a great time at FIRST. I met Brooster and GlideMaster at the event and got the chance to meet a ton of great students and give dozens of demos. My son Jeff is 8 years old and had a great time. FIRST was a real inspiration and Jeff got some nice gifts from several of the teams.
Thanks, Broo, for bringing this FIRST competition to my attention!

Hi Tom, I'd be glad to give you a demo glide. But are you just passing through or are you going to be here in Chicago for a day or two? If you're not just changing planes I'd like to give you that glide. Let me know what your plans are. glidemasterht@msn.com

Hey GlideMaster -
I'm planning on attending the Seattle FIRST competition on Saturday, and have reason to believe that DK himself might be there. So I'll GLIDE in, in hopes of getting to meet him. Any hints for a FIRST timer?

Hi TerryP, I know you asked the G-Master, not me, but I'll take the liberty of answering anyway. :)
Collect lots of buttons, and have fun! We didn't do much in the way of riding in the main competition area, because we didn't want to take attention away from the "main event." Being a little sensitive to that would be my only serious suggestion. You may also want to check with the local committee members and get their approval to bring your Seg inside. We waited outside until they approved it here in Chicago. I think they appreciated our waiting for their okay.
You'll have a great time!

Dean was at the BAE regional in New Hampshire a few weeks ago. I know for a fact he has made appearances at regional competitions every week, but you have to remember there are regionals this weekend in LA, Michigan, New Jersey, and Houston, in addition to Seattle. He might be there.... i've met him a few times... interesting guy :)
