I couldn't wait for the Brimfield,Mass. flea market. I spent two days at Round Top/Warrenton Texas market and had a ball. We took the motorhome and transported the segway with no problem. I spent the first day shopping and checking out the grounds and road/walking surfaces. After practicing at home for the week and a half I've had the segway, I felt confident I would be ok.
We unloaded the segway the next day at 8am and I hopped on. For the next 6 and a half hours I did nothing but respond to the people at the market. It was amazing. I was really surprised by so much awareness of the segway. When I finished talking with a group of people, another group would be waitin 15 to 20 feet away ready with questions of their own.
Only one person actually asked if he could get on it, but the conditions of the ground precluded any demo. I wouldn't even let Tom(hubby) ride it there. He went to traning too, but had not practiced enough at the house for me to be comfortable. Terrible, aren't I?
Thank goodness for the "one third the cost of a Harley" comment. It got a nod of the head from just about every man who asked about the price. It seemed like everyone wanted to know where to buy one.
Many comments were..Is that "IT"?..I've seen that on TV..this is the first one I've seen in person..I've been reading about that...how long does it take to learn to ride...how much?..what would you take for it?..do you like it...and one boy about ten pulled a crumpled dollar out of his pocket and said " can I buy it from you".
I told just about everybody it was everything I had dreamed it would be and after 6 and a half hours of riding the only thing that hurt was my face from wearing a silly grin all day...
I was sad when I finally reached the last bar on the battery indicator and had to return the segway to the truck..by the way, it was all up hill from where I was, and it made it just fine..
It was the best day I have ever spent at a flea market.
What can I do, as just one person, to make the world a better place?..I can segway...
