I think it's amazing that the Segway is so quickly and easily mastered by everyone who tries it - a real credit to the design team.

I took my HT over to my sister's house today so that her family and some of their friends could try it out. They have a nice paved driveway off the dead end of a long paved road, so it was perfect for newbees. My folks came along to watch, and both gave it a try. My mother, who normally uses a walker, was soon riding it up and down the street, and up neighbor's driveways to offer them rides! She's 91 years old. Do any of you know of anyone older who's glided?

I let my grandmother ride and she's 78 years old.

But 91! - WOW - way to go grandma!

My grandmother will be 91 this May, and says she wants a ride. I think she'll do fine, but I'll stay very close.

That is amazing!

The more news of older riders etc. and the more user friendly cities will be. AARP on our side in places like NY and SF would be strength indeed.

Older people who cannot drive any more would gain back such mobility and instead of having to shuffle around with a walker they could hold their heads up join in again.

Your grandma is awesome!!!!
