Hello fellow Seggers,

Sadly, it's been over six months since I've been able to enjoy the art of gliding.

My original i67 nickel batteries died and due to the high cost of new ones, I've been unable to replace them... until yesterday.

After finding him here on SegwayChat, I contacted Dr. Marty for some battery advice.

Turns out, he is a very kind and generous man who got me up and running in about 5 minutes.

On top of that, he has loaned me 2 used nickel batteries until he finds the right set for me to purchase.

I couldn't be happier.

For anyone looking for an alternative to spending a boatload of cash for a new set of batteries, I highly recommend contacting him.

It's rare in these times that someone would get joy from simply helping someone without expecting immediate compensation.

To loosely quote Marty, "Any day that a Segway enthusiast gets back on the road is a good day."

Thanks again Marty for putting that Segway smile back on my face after far too long of sadly watching my beloved Segway collecting dust in the corner.

Kudos.

P.S. Thanks to SegwayChat as well!

What did he do, exactly? How long can your Segway run now?

I had a 4 mile glide last night with two bars to spare.
Good enough for now. : )

He swapped out my dead batteries with a "loaner" set until he either finds me a good used set to purchase or rebuilds my old ones. Whichever is more cost effective.

The amazing thing to me is that on good faith he let me borrow a set (for a week or so) in the meantime.

Now, I wouldn't expect him to start shipping used batteries all over the country free for folks but because I am local and easy to contact, he extended the gesture.

He's a good egg, imo.

I'll be gliding later this morning... and LOVING IT!

I must say Buckaroo, most of the time when people post a "My expierience with _______" post it pertains to something bad that happened. Although I have never personally met or worked with Marty, I can tell he is a great guy! But you did something many don't do! You posted a good instead of a bad. You see, many people will never talk about their good expieriences with this business/person or that one, but they will be oh so quick to talk about their bad! You did not fall into that trap and I just want to point that out and commend you. Way to go and glad to hear you are gliding!

Dr. Marty is a really super guy. Been gliding with him when my seg was doing it's weird spin thing, before INC fixed the problem. I'm sure I scared the heck out of him. I'm sure he was thinking he'd have to give me CPR sometime during the glide. Marty, you're a great guy. When are we all going gliding again?

When I was having a battery problem..Dr. Marty was moving in to his new place. He took time to swap batteries and we looked up some error codes, etc. It was like 11pm or midnight. He's helped me several times and we talked segway the whole time..I owe him a BIG THANKS!!!
