Our house just sold so we'll be headed to Nashville soon. 3 weeks on the FSBO market. It sold from a sign in the yard fir asking price. Can't believe it. We're looking at houses in the greater metro Nashville area where everyday Segway travel will make much more sense than in the rural area where we are currently.
Anyone from the Nashville area lurking here?

Congrats on the house sale!
We will miss you guys, glad we were able to glide with you when you first got your Segs, hopefully we will see you some where on the glide path.

Congratulations, Ross!
I personally love the South, and have been to Nashville once--downtown for a few days to photograph and take measurements of the Ryman Auditorium, and then design a 3D foam jigsaw puzzle of it. Nice town, nice area.
Sounds like a fortuitous move for y'all. Probably a good price differential from where you've been, and moving to a metro area with more sidewalks and infrastructure while yet in a "friendlier" and more laid back city, sounds like a good set of factors for more gliding opportunities.
Hopefully, we'll be reading (and seeing?) more gliding stories from y'all from Tennessee!

"Glide path" Hey, I like that phrase! I was in air traffic control in the Navy in the '70s in the early days of "positive radar control", one system of which the Navy had was called GCA (Ground Controlled Approach). The controller watched an incoming flight on final approach to the runway on two radar screens, one top down for azimuth and range, and another for elevation. He would be in continual radio contact with the pilot and every few seconds would update him on his position relative to the ideal "glide path". "On glide path, on course" would be the best news report to both pilot and controller.
"Glide path" is a very apt phrase for what we do these days, of course. I've called it "low level flight" often, too.

We probably won't be in the heart of the city but out in the 'burbs. Crime seems to be real concern. Every time I see a house we like, I find that there is some sort of reason that area is not recommended. We'll see though. We really want to be close to the metro area for business reasons, but we don't want to be Seg-jacked when we leave the house either. May have to compromise. The housing cost differential is considerable. It's about 25% of what it is here on the average.
It will be pretty hectic for the next couple weeks, but we really did want to do the DC glide before we left. The other thing is that we will be only 4.5 hours from Indy. We may still go to Segfest. It would be a last minute thing and would depend on where we stand house-wise. We're closing so fast, we don't have time to go shopping in TN. We'll be staying at the ExtendedStay America while we house hunt. There is SO much there, it shouldn't take long. We're shopping now via photos and satellite. Satellite photos on Zillow.com are amazing. Just about puts you on the front porch.
