I have an unfortunate guest who purchased an i180 via ebay from what i understand to be a segway dealer. the gentleman called and stated that the unit did not come with a power cord. Nor did the unit power on once the unit was charged. This wonderful man brought me his unit in hopes that I could fix it, and it was beyond fixing. No kickstand, no comfort mat, tires were flat, collar was stripped and to boot there were nickel batteries attatched to the unit. 1 of the batteries was only held on by 1 fastener.

The gentleman is in high spirits due to the aloha we've shared. Which is fortunate...it's all about recovery.

I guess I'm just dissapointed that a unit would be sent out in public this way...poor poor Segway to be shipped back in his box and probably forgotten...never to be ridden.
RIP to a Seg called "Miss Wheels" a nice red i180 with a few too many problems. She travelled many miles to be with her new owner, who, must return her..**moment of silence**
(maybe a body bag may be of need at this time )

Poor little i180.

I just heard from Channelle that the victim (For want of a milder term for this guy who got scammed; I can't imagine there was full disclosure by the seller.) is buying a new i2.

Glad the experience didn't turn him off to the glide.

Aloha,
Roger

UGH

i can't imagine a dealer that would want to jeopardize their reputation with a shoddy transaction like this! also, i am so over ebay segway sales.

saving a segway relationship gone sour is one of my least favorite parts of the job. at the same time it's one of the most critical parts. it's quite the testimony to your desire to create great relationships with your customers and not just sell machines. keep up the good work, channelle!
