my i 167 was/is drifting to the right. the chat here said it was probably the truning grip. so i bought a new one. it helped but there are still times it slowly still drifts. you can turn it and snap it back and it is better,
but the real problem of the emergency stop and the wrench symbol still is there. it seems like if you make an agressive turn causes it. if you take it easy its ok. do these things store a code like the cars do? anyone ever had this problem?

the wrench symbol is the very code you're looking for. can you tell us how many bars are around it? that will help identify what the issue is.

It's hard to diagnose remotely, but I suggest that you have 2 issues.
Drift is typical of all machines.
When driving your car you constantly adjust the steering.
Likewise on a Segway PT.
If you lean to one side, you compress that tire, and the machine drifts that way.
If you hit a small bump, the machine bumps a tad off course.
All these things are normal, and constant steering adjustments are normal.
Thw wrench however is not normal.
It is telling you something, and you are well advised to listen.
Yes the machine keeps internal logs or both user errors ( like falling off ) and any machine events.
Too many or too severe and the wrench appears.
Most dealers can download the error log to the Segway factory.
Then 2 things will happen:
1 Your error log will be clear.
2 Segway will inform the dealer, who will tell you if there are any problems with your machine.
It's worth your while to call your dealer, just to make sure they have the equipment on-hand at the time you plan to visit.
Good Luck

when you do a quick right or left turn, it goes into the emergency mode. there is one long bar at the top and bottom and 3 short ones or each side. pretty much as the battery indicator. does that help?
thanks, dick

Dick, That sounds like the standard battery gauge + wrench.
DRIFT;
Have you checked tire pressure ?
Imbalance will set you drifting.
WRENCH;
You really do need to visit a dealer.
