Greetings, Green Gliders of the World! :D

What did you do or see on Earth Day 2008?

My morning commute takes me past the Escalade/Hummer dealer for Honolulu. This morning, as I was waiting on my i2 at the stoplight down the corner from the dealership, I saw a salesman roll out on an i2 from the detached building that houses its finance office and glide over towards the back lot, a distance of about 60-100 feet.

I didn't know whether to be amused by the irony of the sighting, or hopeful for our planet. :)

Happy Earth Day, everyone!

Aloha,
Roger

LOL, thank you for this lovely irony Roger!! Well, considering you need a pretty good chunk of change to get a hummer, who knows, this one dealer could be helping spike sales. Financially speaking, the Hummer market would be a great Segway market! But then again, many who buy a Hummer and take interest in the Segway probably don't do it cause it's green. Thank you for this amusing sighting Roger!

As I recall, both Dean and Woz have hummers - and Segways :) (Well, Dean did in 2002, and Woz did at SegFesT in LB.)

they have an i2? I saw they had a gen1 locked up to a fence pole the other day. guess those commissions are adding up.

Whoa, if that's not lovely irony, I don't know what is.

For what they charge for Escalades and Hummers, they should throw in a year's worth of carbon offsets for the gas guzzled, or two free introductory tours from local Segway dealers. :D

Aloha,
Roger

P.S.: My wife took the bus to work, again, today. We drove the car only twice in the last week. Over the weekend she got us a year of carbon offsets at Native Energy. We unplugged the computer and the extra phones before leaving the house today. :)

Oh, maybe it was the gen1. I was on the corner across the street and only saw the salesman from the back for a few seconds.

I could claim that I was looking back into the low morning sun, etc., but it's just my eyes.

Hey, if you get a chance before I do and they're out on the lot when you pass by, please ask them what the deal is with their Segway.

Aloha,
Roger
