View Full Version : InfoKey doesn't work - Button stuck

My original infokey was replaced by INC because the on/off button (@ 7:00)became non-functional. It seemed to be stuck IN and would not push in / push out. The second infokey that came with my X2 appears to be sufferring the same problem. The on/off key does not seem to be protruding out from the infokey as much as it originally did and is now making it more difficult to turn the machine on or off.

Is this a problem for anyone? Can the on/off button be made to protrude more or is it a wear problem that eventually makes the infokey useless?

Thanks.

David of Texas Segway has a great tutorial for fixing this.

Thanks bentbiker,

I took a look at it and it seems to be an option to correct the problem. At least now I can see the problem. I bent it a little and it worked fine when I had the battery out and the cover off. After I screwed the cap down, put the battery in and replaced the battery cap it continued to stick intermittenly.

I appreciate your info and I'm going to go right to the source to see if there is something else I should be doing.

Thanks again.

My info key is not stuck it simply give me zero readings, well almost. I see the antenna at the bottom and the normal milage etc at the very top BUT nothing else no codes nothing. I charged my X2 for two days and I only go a red light so being a retired college prof I figured wow! somethings not working. Any suggestions? I have another Info Key and I get the same results.

How was the response from Segway. I sent two EMs and have not even recevied an acknowlegement of receipt. I plan to call them 4/23 and see if they can give me some help.

Have you tried changing out the battery in the info key? Also taking off the batteries on the Segway and putting them back on to reset the main boards will some time help

I went through my dealer, Lehigh Valley Segway, to get the infokey replaced. He did an excellent job and had the infokey replaced under warranty so it didn't cost me anything like the $150-$200 INC. wants for a new infokey. A good reason to have a relationship with a Dealer. With the problem you're having, only getting a red light, I'd suggest you try the reset, un-hook the batteries or take it to the Dealer. A lot of comments here have stated that problems have been corrected by un-hooking the batteries and causing the main system to reset. Good Luck.
