so today we got a call at the shop from our regional manager. he says,"we just got a call. the next frank sinatra has a concert in indy tonight and has a busted machine. can you bring a new base to the venue? i'll send you the info."

the next frank sinatra turns out to be michael bublé and wouldn't you know that for the cost of gas to and from conseco fieldhouse i now have floor seats in the 13th row to see him.

who knew he was an active owner? there are multiple machines traveling with them. i wish we could have gotten a photo of them in use.

gotta love random celebrity segway stories!

Ahhh, so Harry Connick, Jr.'s time as The Next Frank Sinatra has come and gone.

It would have been cool if MB used a Segway for his stage entrance. I'm told that our local opera group used a Segway quite prominently for its production of The Barber of Seville recently.

Terry Hogan is another celebrity who uses a Segway.

Aloha,
Roger

roger - it's been 20 years since the when harry met sally soundtrack. isn't that insane? harry's been with us a generation and so it was time for his predecessor to arrive. i was kind of hoping it would be peter cincotti, but the show tonight was a lot of fun. i'm glad we went.

Nora,

Glad you had a great time. Guess I'm showing my age re: Harry Connick, Jr.

At least it wasn't the kind of event that Hulk Hogan entertains at. :D

Aloha,
Roger

From what I'm told by my CG supervisor, both Brad Pitt and David Fincher, own a gen1 Segway.

Jimmy Buffet takes one on tour with him, using it to tool around the cities he visits during his concerts.

i can't believe i misused the word predecessor. i just reread my entry and was aghast with my misuse of language.

it's just a joy to see people with sway over public attitudes using these machines in a functional capacity. not only was it a delightful surprise to know he uses one on tour, it was equally edifying to know he wanted to fix the broken i2 and get back on it as soon as possible.

Don't fret.... We all knew what you meant to say. I wish Dean would hurry up and get to work on the upgrade I need -- the keyboard that types what I mean instead of what I hit. He might could sell a couple of 'em...:D:D

Ooh, a keyboard that types what we're thinking or really mean to say. Spooky.
(No offense intended, and I really mean that. ;))

Nora, you're a cool person. When I read your "misstatement" (Hmm, now who just did that on the campaign trail?), your intent was clear and there was no reason to play English teacher with you. :)

So, I didn't post a reply at the time. But, I couldn't resist playing with Five-Flags' upgrade concept. :D

Everyone have a glide weekend!

We've got segs to the left...segs to the right:D(for the uninformed, that was a Buffett reference)...
As you can see by my location, I am a Parrot-Head.
My profile pic was taken when I was rollin' down the avenue that's known as A1A (another Buffett reference)

That's great ss!! I worked at Cheeseburger In Paradise (which is a joint venture restaurant between Jimmy Buffet and Outback Steakhouse Inc.). It was a laid back relaxed atmosphere, I am sure you have been to one before as Madison isn't the only out there. Anyway, Madison was one of the first (or shall I say Middleton), and (middleton was) last year voted the best place to live (although I have difficulties believing that).

Anyway, I worked there for a year before I had ankle surgery. I had torn a tendon pretty bad and it needed some sort of removal/fusion surgery (I'm still not 100% on what they did but this was Dec. 06')! Anyway I am doing what I frequently do and taking a long time to say one little thing. And that is this: I never ever want to hear another Jimmy Buffet song again!!! For about a year all I heard nonstop was Jimmy Buffet songs and every hour they would play Cheeseburger In Paradise!! I'm glad you love the guy, but I cannot stand to hear one more of his songs!! Who knows we may just get in good debate at fest when you play Jimmy Buffet!!!!
