Wanting to Start a Chicago Club

I am wanting to start up a Chicago club. Just looking for interest and those nearby.

Start a Yahoo Group or a google group to communicate between your members

Put together an event with the local dealers and get them to invite their enthusasitic gliders to come out.

Father Time does stuff pretty often, so start with him.

The hardest part I have found, is to be netural between any competing dealers, the group is there to support all gliders, no matter where they bought their machine.

With Will on this... Put together a Yahoo or Google Group, then work with your local dealers to have them give the address to new customers as well as current users who come in to browse, or do more business... this way you can have a growing community of users.

Engage them every now and then to let them know that the group is still active (in the winter, or poorer weather).

Always plan a few regular glides, ie. yearly parades, etc.

We had a nice meeting at one of the dealers when they first opened, it was fun.

A little care and feeding of the Segway session, maybe they can get Jamie to come out and do a presentation too! Jamie is the regional Rep for the midwest, I know he does Indiana and Ohio, so I suppose he does Illinois.

Or invite Segvator down to show off their products, it is always fun to get everyone together and try out something.
