I so wanted to go, but unfortunately that weekend I am teaching a class that I can't reschedule. Have fun everyone!
If anyone is coming up to Chicago maybe to see the CUBS, let me know, I am just blocks from Wrigley. Might be able to assist with Tix as well.

Gotta say, if I had to miss fest for something, speed week at Bonneville is certainly a good reason. Please be sure to take lots of pics. One of these days I intend to have a go at it. Are you going to run anything?

I've been wanting to go to a Fest since the first one was held in Chicago in 2003, and this one is gonna be it for sure! My family has enough Marriott rewards points to make the hotel stay free, and I'm looking forward to renting an i2 at the fest, since I've only had about 45 minutes of time on the latest model. I can't wait to post all of my photos from the event on Facebook and have my friends think I'm out of my mind :D.

Well, Ryan, you can virtually count on me being there. As a lifelong Cubs fan, who sang only one lullaby to his daughter (Take Me Out to the Ballgame, of course!), I can't be this close and not attend.
I'll coordinate with you as the date draws closer.

Over the past few days I have found a large 'hand wave'; hey come here. Is that one of those ~ stalling..."what do you call it? Where do/did you get it?" Yes.
I went to Pasadena, LAX to pick up some family this last week.
When I was gliding, way less bull manure than 4 years past. I came right up to security with questions, and talk about service they did everything but walk me there, in the terminals. I went to the international terminal a saw 4 T3motions just sitting there; flight was delayed, so we hit the cantina.
After 2 hours and a couple bloody Mary’s we are on the road home, "I rode in the trunk", [JW], the 405 and conjoining Friday(5PM) night freeways are the most horrid examples of navigating transformational congestion since I heard a heart rub in corps school. I was supposed to stop by Drmartys’ Stall, maybe later.
After the Santa Barbara passing, I was reminiscing about how this was the only spot on the 101 with traffic lights 15 years back, after dinner, seg in the trunk; I hit 88 mph on the Malibu slowed for a freeway flare jaws of life T-bone, lured by the pleasant countryside, clicked the cruise control and put the radio on classical, Schubert.
It’s a four hour drive from LA to AG. Humm what am I forgetting?
\
Oh ya; The Irony of the whole event.
The map I was looking at was of LA and on the opposite page was Indiana, Indianapolis’s half page. ‘Big’ol’ circles from my point of view. Airdrop 10 miles away, down depending on you vantage point.
We have to have a segfesT in another country Next year.

For the cost of shipping, compared to the cost of renting, and having your OWN machine there, it is well worth it.
Let me tell you, you will regret missing this event (plus Pete you can take a few days and go visit the Studebaker and Cord Museums in northern Indiana - a must for any car guy)

Will, both you and Sal keep saying that this is an event we don't want to miss, any particular reason :D? I remember the gen 2's were announced right before the last 'Fest, which was the first time most people had a chance to see them. Something similar planned? Maybe a drastically reduced price p2, or something with a couple more wheels :D?

Come for the fun, the friendship and all the experience. Segway is supporting this event, but I do not think they will make it a platform for releasing any products or announcements.
The reason everyone should come is simple. Because if you do not, you will kick yourself for missing it. Ask anyone who has missed a prior SegwayFesT!
Besides that as an organizer, what am I going to say, "Don't Come!" ;-p I know it will be a good time for all who attend, and Indy SEG is a great group of people, as are all Segway folks. This is the time to meet those that you chat with, pm with, buy stuff off of eBay from, and you get to put a face to a name. Like who does not want to meet DarthSegvator or Mr_Laurenzano, MacGeek, KarlSagal? All the well known folks in the Segway World.
Hey this is a celebration of something we all love! Kind of like a Segway Family Reunion!
Be there, or ride a T-3 Motion!

I believe the original contract included less rooms for Thursday and none for Wedesday. When I booked, I had a cost more than double just for that Wed. and I was told I had the last Thursday night room.
Since then, I believe that the contract has been expanded. Check with Will Hopper. He is doing a great job at making sure that all these kinds of details are being addressed, and doing it well...

Due to the recent announcement of the addition of the WOZ Cup, which those extra days were not in the contract - and those that were, got gobbled right up.
Anyone having any problems not getting the Segway Enthuisast Rate, let me know, that is $129 for one person, and an additional $10 per person after that per room, which includes a $10 breakfast coupon on all the rates, LET ME KNOW
Send me a e-mail through the http://segwayfest2008.com website, with your confirmation number so I can get it fixed for you.
Even though this is the largest hotel in Indianapolis, I think we will fill our room block up fast. It is best to get your reservation in early to be sure you have a room, because you want to be where all the action is. We have NOT contracted with any other hotel in the city, and once this hotel fills up, attendees will be on their own to find lodging during fesT.
Think about asking for a 2 bed room and sharing it with a friend.

This is the largest hotel in the city of Indianapolis, and there is plenty of room now, but later on there will not be. This is a very popular hotel, because it is also one of the nicest in the city!

ps - I strongly suggest buying a polo mallet. Swinging it wildly in all directions might be the only thing that'll stop them from grabbing you and giving you something to do! 8^) 8^) 8^)

But it is the people who make the committment and put in the hours of work it takes to make a SegwayFest happen that I want to thank. You guys and gals are helping keep the spirit of friendship and community together for us Segway enthusiasts.

One is of course pack it up in the old automobile and bring it with you.
The other is get a Segway box from your friendly dealer and ship it to Indy. The local Dealer there is willing to recieve your machine (thus avoiding any hotel charges for oversized packages) and work with you to ship it back home at the end of FesT
Just a hint, on Sunday, think about leaving later in the afternoon.
