Well, somebody had to be the first and I figured, what the heck, it might as well be me.
This week we successfully got Michael Schumacher to sign four (4) Segways and these will be sold at a later date for some deserving institution.
Who is Michael Schumacher you ask? (why you Americans, you sure have your head in the sand!). Michael is the premier F1 driver, winner of so many races that he frustrated all the other drivers.
We were going to try to auction these this past weekend but the buzz that was created was too much and we had to postpone it for a week. Once they are auctioned I will post pictures of the the signed and custom painted units.
Not every celebrity makes a good endorser, but the ones we have lined up will make tongues wag :)

Ah, but are they faster than other Segways like Schumy?

Hell NO. But they are painted just like his car (oh, and standby for Lambo specials) :)

Not sure if Schumy is faster than a Segway but the signed Segways are more aerodynamic and, therefore, probably faster.

Here we go, the newbies will be asking about the purple key :)
What I want to know is what "colour" is the InfoKey equivalent, and does Dean have one ?

there is no difference in appearence, however I'm told DK does have one, and it has both dilitium crystals *and* a flux capacitor. And its powered by a stirling.

Steven, any chance you got Andretti in that lineup?:D How can anyone who follows sports in general, not know who Schumacher is? Of course, I'm a major gear head so I kind of take my racing seriously (accept nascar). You need to get your celebrities to sign individual leensteers and console trim pieces, that way people like myself that would be afraid to ride an autographed seg on a daily basis or those that don't want a second seg can still flash up our daily gliders segs. I mean, I would kill for a Schumacher seg, but I'm in school, and have no need/want for a second seg, I mainly would want one for the car show circuit. Geez, I sound like I'm entering an essay contest.

Seriously, a second segway changes your perspective alot. No longer do you fear a breakdown. Also, it allows you to approach your glides in different manners (since often the other segway is quite different...Gen 1 vs Gen 2 or i vs x). Finally, you're all set to go when you meet a "special" friend and want to share something new and different with them!

I currently have 17 working and 4 non-working Segways and my perspective hasn't changed at all. Everyday I walk into my house and wonder how the hell did they accumulate so fast.
But not to worry, some will be cleaned up next week and up on souk.com (Arabic version of e-bay) they go! My goal, under 10 by end of week

Yeah, I noticed that shift in perspective too when I got my third segway. It's the "Hmmm...maybe I'm going a bit overboard on this segway think. My friends are going to start talking" feeling. But rather quickly, I get that "you can never get enough of a good thing...especially when it's in the pursuit of polo" feeling. That trumps everything!
ps - desert_seg, in your case, you may be feeling something more like "hmmm...I need to equip a whole polo team". I hear Dr Marty gets pangs of emotion like that occasionally!

Polo team? What's that?
Started the clean up / "rebuild" of the Gen 1s two days ago. 3 fully functioanal and clean units, 8 in need of further troubleshooting.
Ah, the joys of trying to figure out what's wrong by looking at Blinky.
