I recently saw the WorldGolf news article about the golf segway being the year's best product. But not being a golfer, I don't know how prestigious this outfit is. Is this magazine/web sites in the top 3 of the industry? What would be the best periodical (magazine ore web site) for golf if you asked a group of 100 golfers??

I had the same question so I did some research last night, while wasting time in my hotel room.

The award is from the Association of Private Clubs, not a publication per se (although they do publish one).

Their website is http://www.apcd.com/.

How big is this award? Well, not the same as if Golf Digest or the USGA gave the award BUT it is recognition and these are the folks whose stated goal is to educate the board members of all the private clubs.

This is probably where we will have the biggest chance to get a significant number in/onto clubs and courses. I call it the Maserati effect.... as soon as one Maserati owner buy a Segway, all the Maserati owners "gotta get one".... saw it happen in Dallas....

Same thing happened in the Bay Area but for Segway golf units. I haven't followed up to find out about utilization now that these segway fleets have been in place for a while.

ps - I did find this YouTube video of some golfers using golf segways in the Bay Area.
