San Jose - Vietnamese Spring Festival-Parade

Join SacSEG in gliding in the upcoming Vietnamese Spring Festival-Parade, on Sunday, February 10th in San Jose, CA. We're hoping to get all the local polo teams to participate in uniform.

Hi All!

I'd like to get an idea of who is planning to join us in the VSF parade on Sunday Feb 10th. On the application I estimated 15-20 Segway Polo-ist from Sacramento's California Gold Rush, the San Jose After Shocks & a few stray Oakland Junkyard Dogs. It would be great if we could exceed 20! This is a rare opportunity to recruit new blood, I mean fresh meat...no wait...new players...yes thats it! All participants need to wear a Segway Polo jersey and feel free to bring mallets as I remember stating something about showing of our skills...well not mine. I believe I promised a bit of demonstration of the fine sport of Segway Polo. I'll keep a nice roll call for anyway who wants to attend so that at check in time on parade day I know how many arm bands to collect for our group.

I commited but have a previous enguagement, well wedding to attend with seg, photo and set~up~teardown. I told 'Don' ya but I have to re-nhg on my verbal ya'know.
700 miles is a long way to travel for a parade. NICE GOAL.

For those attending the parade this Sunday in San Jose:

Park your car in the Market and San Pedro garage across the street. Entry to the garage is on San Pedro street. There will be NO PARKING in the staging parking lot, streets or surrounding streets. We will assemble on Market street between St. John and Santa Clara between 10:00am-10:30am. The parade starts at 11:00am.

The polo practice afterwards will be at Independence High School in San Jose {1776 Educational Park Drive}. Here are the directions from the parade. Weather reports show it will be a great day for parades & Polo alike. [:)]

Start at: W St John St & N Market St San Jose, CA 95113

1. Head northwest on N Market St toward W St James St - 0.1 mi
2. Turn right at W St James St - 486 ft
3. Turn left at N 1st St - 315 ft
4. Slight right to stay on N 1st St - 0.7 mi
5. Turn right at E Taylor St - 1.7 mi
6. Slight right at Mabury Rd - 0.9 mi
7. Turn right at Educational Park Dr - 207 ft

Arrive at: 1776 Educational Park Dr San Jose, CA 95133

The day was clear and the parade went very well yesterday in San Jose. We lightly batted a ball around in the street to the delight and amazement of the well-attended crowds, and held a polo practice elsewhere afterwards.
