Segway of New Mexico was selling the "kit" awhile ago. I'd give them a call.
If you don't want the fenders and handles you will just need the hub adapters and wheels/tires.
Remember that the XT has some software differences. I did the conversion and as long you don't go looking for 'Air time" you should be OK.
I have done just as well with stock I series rims and aftermarket tires.

Interesting, I think this is becoming more and more "fashionable". I have had about 6 enquiries in the last 3 months from people wanting, or thinking of, doing the same thing. I've even put the "conversion" on my price list. Not heard of anyone reversing the proceedure though (X to i).

If one was looking for "dual use" it would be far cheaper to by an XT and convert to an "I".
All you would need there is the tires.

Does a converted i180 have the same limitations in re: battery usage as does a stock X2?
Stock X2s have lithiums, but only get 12 miles to a full charge because of the additional weight, correct? So a converted i180, on nickels, would see its distance on full charge cut by half?

The reduced mileage is mainly due to the XT's tires. I'm sure the more aggressive performance profile of an XT contributes a little to the shorter range, but not nearly as much as the low pressure, high rolling resistance XT tires.
If you pump the tires of an XT up to 15 psi, you'll find you get dramatic improvements in range.
ps - A buddy with an X2 (with tires pumped up to at least 12 psi and Rev AF batteries) went on a rather long glide with me. I had a stock i180 with some older Li-Ion batteries (Rev AB or AC), and we went the same distance. 18 or 19 miles as I remember?

No real extra weight (tires and fenders only) so the range reduction comes from the extra rubber on the road.
The only way to get more range is to inflate the tires to a higher PSI.

I wonder if the issue here in the UK is that they bought i's with the intention of using them to commute etc but are now realising the off road model may be more fun. I think Gbrandwood is a case in point.

If you inflate the tyres so that the centralridge is the only part touching the ground (about 12-15psi) you get an increased range. During events were we use i2's and x2's equally, the x's do use a bar or two more but not a worrying amount. I would add that 90% of that experiance is with newbie's on turtle, so 4-5mph and non aggressive riding obviously helps.

Yes and wheels.
I use the term "tire" as Segway does not , or didn't in the past, sell "I" series tire/wheel as separate items.
