Now that got your attention didn't it!:D
You may recall in another thread I talked about a recent muddy weekend event we attended just outside East London. It was at a Scouts Activity Centre called Gilwell Park and we had been booked in for quite a time. The week before the event it rained, hard, virtually every day. The result?, well thats a no brainer, really.
The winter camp had 2300 Scouts (aged 11 to 16) under canvas for a long weekend. many activities, including us. At times, I swear the line was at least a half hour wait. We even had them start queing 3/4 hour early the following day.
I offer the following photos as an antedote to all those squeeky clean pimped up machines we so often see, and I hasten to add, appreciate, here on SC.
The team photo contains two Chat members, one being me, obviously (red jacket). I will leave it for the other member to identify him/herself if they feel brave enough.
A big thanks to Isidore for re sizing these photos so that I could post them, much appreciated.

Looks like you had a whale of a time there Nick! I wouldn't want to be the one cleaning your van out after transporting them back home though. Good stuff. :)
How'd the team of segs fair in the mud?

That's a familar scene...but usually I see the gliders holding some polo mallets too! Just kidding folks...up to now, I've never played a match in a mudpit. But now you got me to thinking! X2's at a BMX park just after a rain...it'd be like playing a polo, but you have "terrain" to contend with! There'd be a fair number of slips on those hills making for some really muddy players!!

flying them over to Dick and Will and let them clean them up for ya!!
That looks like it was a lot of fun. Could you tell any difference in the x2 and the i2 during your rides? Were there any "loss of traction events"? Thanx.

Gareth / Shalloway.
We had all three models there, i2, X2 and a Golf. The i2 was virtually unridable on the grass, whilst the others were OK. On one part of our track, the grass made way to very slippery mud, and we had a number of "offs" always from the i2's, so we changed the course. The Golf did have a spill on the last ride of the last day, mainly because the rider ignored our set route on the hardstanding and got one wheel on the mud. I think it was a mixture of the Golf "turf friendly" tyres having the tread full of mud, and an inexperianced rider making a sharp or jerky movement, even though we preached "slow and gentle inputs".
Hey, he walked away, what more do you want? [B)]
It's like the old days flying. Any landing you walked away from was a good one :D
We estimated that we had about 250 - 300 Scouts/Guides and only 1 gave us "attitude". No problems from the long queue, and all payed attention to their instructors. Personally, I was a bit worried prior to the gig, but they were all well behaved, with many thanking us for letting them ride!

That's what I'm talkin' about. That much dirt would make Colin McRae (R.I.P.:()blush:D.

If that was the case, I wouldn't own a Segway.
And speaking of filth, why aren't there any FREAK'N MUDFLAPS for the i2? I hate getting junk thrown up onto the back of my coat and pants.
