Do you really want to be a distributor and sell to dealers in a certain geographical region outside the US? Or do you want to be a dealer and sell to the public? Both are covered here. They mention very specific locations for which they are looking for dealers.

So one of your best places for information is the established Segway Dealer in your area.

They know the business and what to expect, and some are taking on sub dealers this year. So talk to the owners and managers of some of the larger dealerships to get a educated view of the business.

My question would be in what area do you want to distribute? Many areas outside the US are taken and, more importantly, INC is much more selective in their partner picking.

If you can find them, the best people to talk to are the dealers who've closed...especially in your area. If you pay them something for their time, they'll happily tell you all the dirt. You'll find out what they felt were the obstacles to doing business in your area (city council, competing businesses, sufficient disposible income of the average citizen, etc.), and you'll probably hear some very frank words about how Segway INC treats its dealers.

ps - Also any dealer currently in business in your area doesn't want to see another competitor start up nearby, so take what they say with a grain of salt.
