Have a wonderful day & try to avoid the chores.
Here's a virtual gift certificate for a (virtual) new Stetson.
Have fun, you young whipper-snapper...:p:p

I must say Happy Birthday as well Karl. It may be a little late but I certainly hope it is the best you've had! Hope this birthday was full of black clothes for you as well!

I have a secret! I usually wear white socks!
Of course, I also wear black pants and black boots, so you have to know me fairly well before you will have the opportunity to confirm this...
Thanks for the consideration...

I had a nice birthday, and it gets better with all these nice kind wishes for a good one.
I have a lot to be thankful for, as I have been lucky or blessed, depending on your perspective. Any way you cut it, I married up, and lucked out with two great kids, and a wonderful and very tollerable life...
Thanks again for the well wishes...

So... what'd ya get?
Bling?
Bear in mind that I spent years in the Army, have lived on 3 contenents, taught skydiving for 12 years, and have square danced in 14 countries, and 20+ states.
One of the most powerful and moving gifts I have ever gotten was when I come in the door, I hear gleefull little kids squeal, "Daddy's home!" and they run and each grab a leg, the dogs are hopping around like nuts, my loverly bride is cooking some wonderful dinner (or even heating up leftovers) and the entire globe slows down for a few minutes as I try to get the rest of the way in the front door...
Unfortunately, the dogs have passed on, but the rest was still intact that day. Luckily, I get that gift most days.
Bling was not in the cards this year, but my cup already runneth over.
One thing that I did for myself this season, however, was I made an even swap for a new (to me) car. I traded my 2004 Buick Rendezvous with 108,000 miles on it, for a 1999 Volvo C70 convertible, with 133,000 miles on it. The deal cost me 0 dollars, but it was a big thing for me...
I have owned convertibles before, but this is the first time since I returned from the army in 1981 that I have owned a car that was not made in America. It is a big deal for me.
To be honest, I do love that rag top. I have always liked cars more than trucks or SUVs anyway. And I do like the top, and it is a nice car, with some interesing features. (Also very expensive to fix, and what is with the $225 keys?!?)
So, I made that trade on December 21st. I still like it. That is the closest to bling I have to offer...
If it's bling to you, that's all that matters! Glad it was a great birthday, Karl.
Pam
