A Segway Gliding
A Car going too quickly
Never a good thing

I ride not today
January sixteen
"Black Death" sits at home

Knobby tires on
Malate in my right hand swings
Can you say POLO

quade

I ride and feel free
Unconstrained by the rules
POLO has a few

Ironically
I participate here
Haiku has rules too

Where is the POLO?
Pizza delivery?
I also don't see.

Swing the arm strongly
With back-handed compliments.
Oh, was your face there?

Go hither-thither,
Scurry quickly to the chase.
Just like Whack-a-Mole!

Follow tradition.
Renounce ye the five-six-five.
Do five-seven-five!

Free anyone is
To craft a Haiku at will.
Free to ignore, too.

I didn't orchestrate the hijacking this thread! It was a groundswelling of support for the best sport of 2008! 8^) 8^) 8^)

But since we're already down this path, how's this:

polo on my mind
never can get enough now
swing low once again

You're right, and that's what I meant. I guess, for clarity's sake, I should have written:

Not Polo the man
but polo the strange new sport
steals most threads lately.

Polo is not my game
Politics is more for me
To each their own path

It's Karl's birthday.
Let us help him celebrate!
I like to eat cake!

He is getting old.
Not as old as some of us,
but he's getting close!

It is such a shame.
His age is growing as fast
as Polo's post count!

I will say no more.
Don't want to disappoint him
with dreary "Old" jokes.

Have a Happy Day!!!
We really hope it is one,
from all on SegwayChat.

Happy Birthday to you;
Happy Birthday to you;
Happy Birthday, dear Karl;
Remember that at your age cake leads to diabetes and heart disease. :D

I always wondered if grey would win out over bald... I got my answer... Both!

The AlCan beckons
Is that a wolf chasing me?
Quick POLO swing HARD!

A valiant attempt
Alas the mallet misses
Wolf eats well tonight

What an epitaph!
Memorial in haiku!
I am so impressed!!

Haiku is an art
characterised by line length.
Think "Five-Seven-Five".

If you cannot count
then you miss the challenge of
writing in this way.

Of course, there are some
who feel that we should not
be allowed to post.

Obviously they
have never felt the feeling
of creating art.

What! You say it's not?
An awkward, stilted style?
No! This cannot be!

Keeping the form true,
words are boinging in my brain,
trying to get out.

Thus, I lost my mind.
All from this ode to Haiku.
It is such a shame....

To be pedantic,
"Haiku" refers to Nature.
If not, "Senryu"

:D

But more on topic,
No gliding since Christmas day
Well and truly bummed

Why have you not glided? Or is it "glode"? "been gliding"?

Oh, just a combination of a nasty boomerang cold and a general lack of time. I'd been hoping to take it to work today and use it to go out to lunch, but ran into a schedule conflict. Hopefully I can do that someday next week. The weekend isn't looking too good, time-wise, but you never know. Worst case, Feb. 2 I should be up around the trails in Scottsdale I mentioned in JimNPhx's thread.

I tried out "glode" on my wife some weeks back. She was agin' it...

Another Haiku,
Gliding on Christmas Day, but,
Without gloves -- hands froze
