I've seen the Segway INC promo video of the Centaur, but I thought it was too flashy. Fast moving, spin outs and tight manuevering. If you're like me and want to see regular people doing plain jane moves on it, check out

ps - Based on the people I saw in the background and the surroundings, I'm guessing this came from the 2005 Sac Segfest?

Cool. It does look a lot like a 4 wheeled "SegSeat" when it's up on it's rear tires.

The transition into upright mode, comes off as a tad awkward here, and not something you would want to do without both hands on the grips, since the rear platform appears to tilt back a lot.

I wonder how many prototypes they've made? There are at least 2 in this video.

It appears you enter two wheel mode by intentionally popping a wheelie using the throttle. It looks as if the machine then stops you from coming all the way back. To go back down it looks like he had to put it in reverse then lean forward and apply throttle at the same time.

Only two were ever made. Last time I saw them one was in partial disassembly the other was tooling around but had a slight mechanical problem.

Still think it could evolve into a worthy design for an urban NEV...
