Has anyone tried the glide in Griffith Park?

I think this should be something fun to do for the holidays.
Or if anyone has a crazily lit neighborhood, let us know!

Years ago when I lived in Glendale, I drove the route and saw the Griffith Park lights. It's very pleasant. It would be even more fun on a Segway.

I too have driven it and have thought about gliding thru as it is just minutes from my house, unfortunately I should have gone between Nov 21 thru Nov 25 as it was pedestrian only and you could have glided (glode?) on the pavement. Now with cars allowed the barrier lined pathway are really horse walking pathways and are so soft in some places that I'm afraid would cause loss of traction except for those with XT or X2. Or you could brave the legallity and saftey of gliding the pavement along side the cars. Not much a chance of getting hit as it is bumper to bumper traffic traveling slower than a Segway. No promises on tickets.....

enjoy!

Naples Island in Long Beach is always well decorated. I don't know how crowded it would be to glide though. Also, the beautiful homes in the Bixby Knolls country club area are also well done.
We could also decorate and/or light up our Segs. You can buy lights that run on AA batteries. That way we could also be a part of the decorating celebration.

And I'm ready to tour some neighborhoods!
I hope there's a good clear night or two to catch all the lights!
I've taken off my HID light, and added a few LEDs for the holidays.

And I just saw AA-=powered lights in a catalog. Other than ordering them, do you know of stores that carry battery-powered Xmas lights?

Well, when are we going and where? I'm ready. Just can't go this Sunday, 12/9. How about caroling along the way? I don't have a great voice, but it's a lot of fun anyway. People usually don't care if you are on tune or not. They just enjoy the amusement and holiday spirit. If we are decked out in lights and/or decorations and singing along the way it could be a great deal of fun.:D I'll bring caroling material and/or some musical accompaniment. How about next week?
CMonkey is ready, and his lights are fantastic. Good job!

Lights. Pretty.
Ah, Santa Monica's starting to set up their creepy "Christmas Story" tableaux now, on Ocean. Lots of manakns to gawk at... (and I don't mean birds)
I rolled by there last year.

A couple of weeks ago I saw them at IKEA, Carson, CA. They were in the sale tent in the parking lot.

I looked all over for 12v led lights, and they have them for 'marine' applications, but they're kind of expensive. I just use a 12 v battery pack composed of 10 rechargeable AA batteries and a 120v inverter. It's got enough power to drive my 100 led light string for hours! You could easily more strings with a larger battery
