It might be a good idea to keep track of the news of Segway expanding beyond the US borders on this thread. Here is an a starter:

quote:During a recent Asian trip, Kamen visited with senior government officials in Singapore and had lunch with the mayor of Taipei, Taiwan. “They have pressing needs for this technology in that city,” he said.

On the other side of the Atlantic, Segway is working with organizations in France, Germany and Italy to determine how Segway can be deployed there.

Police in Boston and Manchester have tested Segway. Kamen believes it can be of assistance to police in Italian cities which have banned cars from central areas.

Excellent topic, Lawrence. Something tells me that the forces of resistence will be less in this part of the world.

I'll keep my eyes peeled for any euro-news that I can find. Wish I had some language skills beyond english and a smidgen of dutch and spanish.

We could try searching for some international Segway forums and invite those people to post here. Since Norwegian, Swedish and Danish are somewhat similar I might do an occassional search in these languages.
