In this recent "In the News" item:

Me and My Segway Against The World (http://forums.segwaychat.com/showthread.php?p=155582)

An interesting quote appears:

Disney World will grant me entrance with an installed seat

Congratulations to Ms. O'Ryon for boldly gliding where no one has glided before.

Has anyone seen some corroboration on this, as in a statement or posting from officials at Disney?

Of course, they're still not in full compliance unless they let standing riders in too.

The article doesn't mention that she actually tried it. More likely she just talked to someone on the phone.

I would like to know the individual, and the problems they encountered at the KoP mall. I have lived here just over a year and a half, and had no problems. Security even uses them to patrol. If it weren't for my Segway, I would have never went inside that mall.

Alas, I am so tired of hearing a company say "if you sit down". What about us who cannot sit comfortably!

This sound highly unlikely. As quoted above it does not say that she has been let in.

The seat deal is just beyond belief as it would fly in the face of all the reasons that Disney has given for a ban in the past, but I'll check on it.

I have in the past been to Downtown Disney on my HT sitting, been seen by "Cast Members" and not a word said:

The next day I went standind and was asked to leave.

But that was not in a "Park" and as far as I know noboby has made it past the gates.
