Although the Segway isn't allowed (yet) on the public road, they have made an awesome video, watch the english version at:

Thanks, Florin. Quite well done. However, I guess I'm confused -- isn't it still illegal?

Yes it is, but perhaps they have published the video now as some kind of ammo for the other parties, for the parlement discussion on tuesday. It's just a guess, but I think it might be used to convince the minister of transportation.

We will all hope that to be the case, but I have my doubts about this minister of transportation -- I don't suspect a secret agenda, just questionable intellect. Thanks again.

I really like the video and the special effects to simulate the warp speed over the traffic congestion. It will help. Keep up the good work.

I just noticed I made a typo in the title, it shouldn't be "Dutch Railroads and NS" but "Dutch Railroads and Segway".
Unfortunately I can't change it anymore, but I guess it's not a big deal.

Quite a change from over here regarding helmets. Didn't see any on the Segway riders or the cyclists in the video.

Nice video...I do hope the right people see it. I like the low key tone of it. Rather than taking an "exciting new product" approach, the filmmakers try to make it seem like "just another option" along with bikes. Hopefully, Segway INC will take note.
ps - I still believe that the first successful mass transit "last mile" solution involving segways will take off when someone designs a train car or bus with lots of "storage slots". Sort of like the Opel PT, but more like a bus with underfloor storage tailored for quick segway deployment down ramps.
Maybe it'll take a Google to make this work? They have the deep pockets and fleet of buses. Perhaps someone there will see how much more flexible (and better utilized) it makes their buses. Most importantly, they have ridership that'll continue to use a segway/bus solution for years to come.

Some of you may recall that recently I attended the London Freewheel event. The purpose of this was to back up the UK importer (SUK) with extra Segways whilst gliding with some members of NedRail.
I cannot possibly tell you any more as I would have to kill you!
