A Segway is now one of the game pieces in Monopoly's new electronic game. If you watch the demo, game features, it is the piece in the far back right.

Heck with the game, I just want to buy the little Segways... Wonder if LLC got any royalties from the use?

Of all the possible game pieces they chose a Segway. Though it may have been some company exec's whim, I think that speaks to the actual impact the Segway is continuing to have on the public in general. Perhaps that exec owns a Segway--whatever. This game is going to continue to be a "best seller" on into the electronic age and this little token can't but help the cause.

I believe that most people do not really know about Segway sales, or really care...
I suspect that more people have been on a segway than in the shuttle. While I have seen people with small dogs in their handbags, I do not know many that do it.
I do not think the tokens were a testiment to what is actually popular to own, or even use, but what is popular to consider... I believe that most people know of Segways, and do think of them as cool or futuristic, or even a token representative of what can be, based on state of the art technology of today. I do not think that they are beyond the awareness of most people that would also be aware of electronic monopoly.
Further, regardless of the disconnect between the few troglidites that express it when they can, the vast majority of those I speak with see the segway as a useful and reasonable item, even if many do not see it as having a space in their lives.

I bought for the piece, I perfer the regular money, I printed some out in black and white, the kids color it. It reminds me of Tom and Janey's Bling at segfest. Im going to use it with age old game board in the blue cloth Box.
Its missing one refector on each wheel.

you can buy replacement tokens here. the electronic version is not listed yet, and as patience is not in abundance in this group, most will just have to do as Crash did, buy the whole game for one token.

Don't know how long for.........I can see it now, kids all across the country getting Monopoly games as holiday presents from parents and relatives who visit SC, purchase a game, substitute gum-machine trinkets for the Segway token, and then give the game away as a present. Two people made happy at the same time -- 3 if you count the retailer.

They're $30 through the 17th.
There is a $5 coupon only in their "Toy Catalog", only included in certain Sunday newspapers on November 4th. (Toy Catalog/coupon is neither available in the store nor on-line.)
So, most will pay $40, Target shoppers $35, a few Target shoppers $30 through Saturday and the "freaks" (sorry, Greg,; but that's actually a complement) may put together all the combinations and get one for $25.
I bought one and have it on display in my Anaheim store for all to see. It's awesome. Not just the Segway token, but the game too. It's so NOW. All the properties are today (Fenway Park, Golden Gate Bridge, DisneyWorld, Times Square, etc.). And there's no cash. All transactions ($$'s are in the millions) are handled by debit card!
If it works out, participating dealers will have them soon.

Sounds really great, I wonder if they'll do a UK version as well. Mind you, if they do it may not have the same game pieces
