Eric's encounter at B&N made me think about past incidents when "moron rules" didn't apply.

1. ask the person to repeat their statement
2. ask for their name
3. write down the info (get a good description); if necessary, tell them you'll report this to DRAFT for corporate relations

If at this point they persist, you DON'T engage or be physically near them; leave

4. if they photograph you; you photograph them

A letter-writing campaign program from people here may be a good pro-active response.

I'm considering having stickers made on a blue background with "EPAMD" in large letters with a suitable design. When they tell you to leave...point to the sticker.

Suggestions would be appreciated.

It seems simpler to use your cell phone, digital camera or camcorder, after executing step 1. Then step 2 would be forwarding copies of the video to the corporate office, and in the absense of a timely response to the local media a day or two later.

If you desire an immediate confrontation just whip-out your superphone and such. If you want to give an idiot a chance to save face, you may carefully and methodically work through it. Asking questions makes most people nervous, especially when they have no idea what the hay they just got themselves into.

Most law enforcement and lawyers are going to want as complete a picture as possible before getting involved. If you start gathering evidence sooner, you're going to be more likely to actually get a matter pursued by the authorities later.

With that said, you can't act like a video is going to protect you from bodily harm as things escallate. Maybe that was your point about whipping a camera out?

ps - Maybe I'm getting old, but I don't have time for verbal judo with every half wit who wants might want to challenge me when I glide. There are just too many of them out there...

"Hi' Ya'"; you freaken wierdo, thats what I tell'um.
Never give an idiot a second chance, once a train of thought goes off in that direction a little red light goes off in my mind and its play time. Its like getting a dog to chase it's tail.
Im not naying your response but actions that offend are much better lead off into the dark clouds of stupidity. Let them take the first swing and connect with you. Let them swing and swing and swing, then when you hear them breathing hard, stand up, smile and proceed to kick thier A**.

Have a nice day
