Don't know about crazy, I think the first word that comes to mind is insane!
I did not notice any disclaimer saying "No Segways were hurt in the making of this film"

The only things they did wrong was to use METAL RAKES an to perform this on a narrow walkway with hard walls.

Not just that - using P series machines was a cop out. They needed the tougher, faster X2Ts on proper turf. A true Knight would be appalled the gallant sport was conducted on (and perhaps by) mere asses. ;)

Hellphish,... "the only things they did wrong"?! I found it tough to find anything they did right! I saw lots of other things wrong! LOL
I was both mortified and amused. If dumb people want to do dumb things, for a couple bucks and a moment of stardom, they should have at it. It was somewhat amusing, although I thought it could easily have been better preformed...
I did find it amusing in an odd manner. I thought that they displayed poor sportsmanship, and while in this silly joust, and the toss off the bridge after, if they had been laughing, or giving the impression that they were having fun, I believe it may have been a better show.
Gbrandwood, I too noticed the P133s. I thought it was kind of odd, and made me wonder as to the age of the footage. (My viewing of the tape was at work, and I could not get all the audio)
Now that you mention it, for knights, they did choose weak mounts.
I would liken this presentation to that of two knights with bad attitudes, acting like they had the flu, jousting as if they were on the backs of St. Bernards, and dis-liking each moment of it...

Peter Principle + Darwin = Hilarity
That said, if somebody had actually gotten hurt, I would have hated to be the guy talking to the cops to try to explain it.
"Uh, yeah. We were Segway jousting on this bridge when my rake caught Bob in the throat, sent him over the side and he drowned. No, maybe that wasn't the brightest idea, but I did get $200 from the pretty girl!"

Do people get the Darwin award if they just hurt themselves? I thought they had to completely remove themselves from the gene pool.
Maybe there should be a "wanna be Darwin Award winner" classification for evolutionary throwbacks that are not bright enough to be successfully mortally wounded...

The things they did right were to joust in the first place (awesome) and to use the p133 machines, which are narrower and less likely to get caught on each other.

Usually, when someone places themselves close enough, they'll receive a Darwin Honorable Mention Award.
(Roughly equivalent to hearing "Here's your sign...."):):):)

But way too dangerous.... Maybe if it was segway PIE jousting it'd be more fun. There would still bee to be a boundary between the two riders, like three feet, so you'd have to at least let loose of the pie!
Points for style and pie coverage!
