I am looking to rent out 6 (six) of our i2s and 4 (four) x2s for the Winter. I own a seasonal business in Maryland and would like to find a home for these machines where they can be of use to another company and generate some income for us while we are closed for the Winter.

Please contact me at the email address below if you are interested in renting them and we can discuss details.

Several SF Bay Area tour operators can't get their hands on enough segways for their business at the moment. But I'm not so sure if this demand will carry into winter. You might get on the segway tour web site and look for tour operators in AZ, FL or TX and call them directly.

By the way, as an aside, if it costs $150 per machine to ship it each way to another tour operator, how easily is that spread across all the rentals? If you assume the other tour operator is borrowing them for 6 months = 2860 rentals (10 machines at 3 tours per weekend day and only one full tour during each weekday), I guess the $3K in shipping costs only adds $1 each rental. That's not so bad...if the operator charges $30/hour (because he's at a premium destination) and you split that then you'd be getting close to the $20/hour listed on your website!

ps - I'm not sure how helpful the AZ/FL/TX dealers would be in finding a tour operation needing a large number of segways. They have a vested interest in selling segways to tour operators. And if you end up cutting a deal with a local tour operator, that could postpones any fleet replacement for 6 months or so.

All good points. My thought was that someone on the East Cost would be perfect for this shared venture. No shipping involved, if a truck were rented and driven to the business location, thereby greatly reducing that cost and making it affordable.

As for my rental prices, I rent them, not as tours, but as rentals to take on out their own with good training. I believe there is room for profit for us both, not enough to get rich on surely , but it could make money for them and defray my downtime costs.

We have successfully placed most of our Segways in a great location for the Winter. If you are interested in the balance of our inventory, let me know....soon!

It is a great way to increase your fleet if you are anywhere sunny and warm, have a higher demand than you have Segways during your peak season, do not want to purchase new ones at this time, or, are just starting a new business and feel it is smarter to lease rather than buy for your first season.
