My lovely wife just got me a Zumo (https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=135&pID=8582) for my birthday! It is a perfect match for the Segway. Colors look nice and has nice big buttons.

Only down side is no 12vdc available to keep it charged in the included cradle.

I have the Garmin Nuvi 660 that I have been using. Again it is hard to find a way to keep it charged. Maybe one day I will meet one of you GURUs of customization so I can get some cool LED lighting as well as a way to charge my GPS on my i2.

I really am interested in getting some solid Kick Stands. There was one that was offered that attaches to the front, but I take my i2 up and down stairs in my home in the Riderless Balance Mode and that stand would scrap the heck out of the wood stairs.

I use the Garmin Quest portable GPS on my Segway and in my car. A charge lasts for many hours, depending on if the backlight is on or not.

Ryan,

flyoguy and I both use the 660 and love it, but I don't use the BT feature or the mp3 player functionality and haven't needed more battery life. Are you using BT and could that be the drain that gives you insufficient battery life (I think they claim up to 3 1/2 hours?)?

Also, have you seen the thread: http://forums.segwaychat.com/showthread.php?p=149264#post149264 where funky-move.de says his new model does not stick out? Also, Jimmy Vianu says his redesigned bracket sits well back for the i2, and off to the side with the bracket attached to the much stronger 3 screws for the internal wheel cover.

I'm using an old street pilot III... uses 6AA batts and I love it because I can load the Garmin TOPO maps and hit the fire roads and trails!
I want the NUVI 660 someday, but only if I can get topo maps for it.

As BentBiker said I also use the Nuvi 660. It last about 3 hours, but I use the Bluetooth feature and listen to Audible Books on it (no headphones). I bought a small car starting battery and removed the jumper cables. That battery with a small inverter will keep the Nuvi going for days. It fits in the handlebar bag (gen I) but it's heavy and fills the bag.

I just bought a 6000 mAh Lithium battery pack from batterygeek.net to charge my iPhone when no other power is available. With it I bought a "tips" kit that will plug into anything. I bought the tips kit to charge my wifes phone with the mini USB tip. I figured USB power is USB power so I tried it in the Nuvi. The Nuvi frooze and had to be reset to clear it. Too bad, it's much smaller (deck of cards size).

I'm still looking

Like cmonkey, I used to use an old StreetPilot III. It was great because of the 6 AA batteries. I just always carried 6 extra batteries and you could go a whole day without trying to conserve energy (dim screen, reduce the amount of time the GPS actually tracked you, etc.)

It's a great GPS for a Segway. It holds enough mapping area and does door to door routing. It was pretty much prefect, but big.

I catch a lot of crap from people when they see a GPS on a Segway, but when I tell them my wife and I travel a lot and it's always nice to know the shortest way back to the hotel, casino or timeshare when the battery get low, then they understand. Then I get the OOoohh....

I forgot about that catching crap thing:D

I now actually look forward to catching it, since, being the smartass that I am, I just have to give them one of my many comments, like:

How else would I find starbucks in a strange town.
I use it to avoid dead ends
I use it to track my mileage.
I'm a retard, and it's how I find my way back home, (Here's your sign)

Reading this site my English improves on a daily basis. I now understand why these are called "catch phrases" ! :D
