On my I180 I keep the lock wound around the column. This is perfectly safe. With an i2 this seems to be a problem as it affects the lean steer.
So guys with i2s and locks – where do you keep it when gliding?

I have a long, rubber coated, cycle lock. I keep it wound, figure of 8 style around the centre of the handlebars and the top of the LSF.

Guys - thanks and to myself duhhh.
What do you do when not gliding with a bag - e.g. don't want to have anything in your hands, just glide there, tie the seg down and take a nice coffee break?

The commuter pouch/bag is also a backpack - - transfers easily to the human to carry. :)

I have a lock wound around the bottom of the leansteer frame, and I haven't noticed any problems with steering.

I was thinking the same thing as will, but you should have it painted with gold paint first. Talk about Bling!

If you wear the lock thru the loop, it could be more easily used to choke you to death.
I keep mine in the front handlebar bag, in the bottom of the center compartment.

You bet! Only thing is, he kept the Segway lock under all those gold chains so nobody would see it and "choke him to death" with it!

I, too, keep my lock in the handlebar bag of my i2. Hey, if it's just a quick coffee break, whadya need a lock for? Maybe you should reconsider where you drink coffee.:)

In the handlebar bag or if without the bag then figure of eight over the handlebars. Did you sort out the speed limiter issue- the newer infokeys allow you to set your own turtle and max speeds (upto 12.5 mph of course)

I guess it does depend where you live:
Last Sunday, I rode to the local Radio Shack to pick up 3 of those number 2430 Lithium Batteries we use for our InfoKeys...
I pulled up to the building and tried to lean the machine up against the side of it, near the door. It's all glass, so I thought it would be fine there, as I could see anyone messing with it if they were so inclined. I thought the Alarm Mode would make running off with it-- challenging, and slow them down a bit. But as I don't have a kickstand, the machine kept falling backwards and wanted to roll twards the street. Not good.
Just as I was puzzling how to solve this problem (there were no poles or bike racks nearby) the Manager of the store, rushed out the door and told me, "Sir, you better park that in here! Something like that would be gone in no time, if you leave it out here"
I was a bit surprized at the intensity of her offer to help, but then again, this is Lincolin Ave. in Venice CA, so I pushed Herbie in and they let me park him near the door. It was pretty much the opposite side of the same glass wall were I originally was.
After buying the batteries I wanted to replace, I convinced both the Mangager and her assistant to demo the machine inside the store. They both seemed to really like it, and mentioned that "Shack" apparently owned one, too.
Cool. I did not know that.

Ouch, looks like one has to worry about what else goes missing when inside RS, not just the outside of it.
A year ago, RS only got $4.29 each:

Maybe Fry's is due for a price increase by now.

Wooo, super cheap!
The nearest Fry's isn't a good glide from my location. Some of the roads don't have sidewalks for me to get there... Scary.
But RS is soooo close, I think of it like a Convienance Store. You pay a bit more for the accessibility.
I got the batteries cause sometimes, my infokey would reset everything to zero, so I figured it was time to replace them all. Seems to have solved the problem.

I sure did!
The machines shipped to Israel had a limit on the regular mode. I refused to accept mine like that. The dealer made a decision and the new batch of machines came without this "feature".
So now maxspeed is what it should be and I can set the max speed on both mode as it should be.
