A few months ago, I came up with what I thought was a simple idea.

It was a simple post, that stuck out the back of the seg, and you could tilt the seg back onto it.

I was told that while I found not problem with this stand, that it may hit curbs if you drop off them. After trying a few times, I could indeed hit the curb with it, but it did not matter. All that happened was that it would cause the platform to pitch forward a slight amount, therefore causing the seg to move forward the single inch needed to clear the curb... Still, some wanted improvements...

This is what I came up with...

This unit, also goes to the rear, so the parking is similar, but it retracts...
In this shot, you can see the spring that I use to retract the post and hold it into the retracted position.

This shot shows that while retracted, it is inside the line of the tires

This shot shows a closeup of the key that is on the shaft, near the bolt in the center of the shot. (THe key is a lump of metal that locks the stand in position.

This shot shows the keyway, or notch in the holding bracket that allows the post to be set and locked...

The post has a handle and it can only be deployed into position when the handle is parrallel with the platform. Handle up or down, and the post cannot deploy.

This shot shows the parking stand deployed and the machine parked.

I just installed this today. I have used it for some errands, but I will continue to test it out in the weeks to come...

Fantastic! Can you deploy with your foot? How about adding a rubber foot to the end of the shaft for parking on grass? Very Nice!

You may be able to deploy with your foot, if you have great dexterity but I do not... Because the retraction is spring loaded, it is easy enough to retract with your foot.

I don't know about anyone else, but even though I tried to use my toe to deploy the Gen 1 parking stand, I often had to use my hand because I had some problem or other with my foot. This handle is about 6 or 8 inches higher than the gen 1 handle.

The significant difference here is that you can leave it deployed as I do with my original stand, and only retract it if you find yourself in an area where you plan to do a lot of curb drops which I do not do much...

Further, if you look at the last picture, you can see that the handle is above the transmission on the right side. Most of the after market stands, are bolted to the base, and are therefore much lower. If bending is an issue, than this is easier.

It does take an inch or so of space on that side, so that may be a problem, although, my foot is mostly below it, and I have yet to feel it while gliding. Of course, someone will find this not to their liking, and I do not expect it will meet the needs of everyone...
