I need to install a headlight on my new i2.
I got the accessory bracket but its quite up and also it moves with the lean steer – seems like not the optimal place for a light. I also have the Lower Cargo Frame Kit (on the right side only), should I install it on that?
And while at the subject, which lights do you recommend?

the moving leansteer is not a problem. most of the lights i saw on i2 were at this position..
i use a led lamp mounted to the accessory bar...
I installed my light on the bracket and have no problem with it.
Karl has his light on the lower cargo frame if I remember correctly, he prefers it there. So it's all ijn Preference

I use the segway light made by diNolte (I think I have the spelling right)
I use both the 3/5 watt forward headlight and the red tail light...
Mine are both powered by the Lithium option, but it only gives about an hour or 90 minutes when both lights are on.

As you can see from this terrible picture, I have them both mounted on the cargo frame, and the battery behind a custom plate on that side.
On a different topic, Yossi has asked about parking stands, and I thought I would toot my own horn, so to speak...

The major concern with this parking stick, if you should want to copy it, is that if you go down curbs very slowly, it could catch. I have never hit but you can if you stop at the edge and drop down... I always roll off, if I go off them at all.
Another factor is that I have a trailer hitch, and anyone with a trailer hitch has the same issues of dropping down off a curb...

I have my 5W Segway Light on the Accessory bar, which is tilted at an angle away from me. It's angled about 45 degrees. This way, I'm less likely to brain myself if I'm forced down into the bracket, and its not straight out, so I'm less likely to hit something with it while turning, etc..
If your machine drops, anything sticking out will bite into the ground, so be aware of that possibility should have have to jump off (like in a game of polo or evading gang members in LA along the boardwalk). A front bag can not only carry more stuff on your machine, but help protect the top front of the CS in these situations.

Thanks for your inputs. I got a Cateye unit (http://www.cateye.com/en/product_detail/345) and am now evaluating an installation on the accesory bracket and on the lower cargo frame.
In a few days after doing some night gliding I'll settle down on one installation method.
The beauty of this unit is that it comes with a quick release mount so it is effortless to try out different configurations.
I run this on my accessory bar. Both lights and the battery pack are attached to the accessory bar. Spendy but very bright.

Yossi, I use the Segway HID light mounted on the leansteer and this is very bright and works very well. I have a velcroed on bracket for a a rear light on the central console (light shines between your ankles) and another light on the back of my helmet. Leansteer mounting is not a problem and especially with the HID which is very bright, by mounting it higher it is angled downward more so you are less likely to dazzle cyclists/ pedestrians/ drivers. If you decide to go this way you can either use the accessory bracket or for a more minimalist solution look at my cycle computer mounting bracket system posted a few months ago.

What a mine of information this site is...I have been looking for a light mounting solution for a while. The UK Seg Importer has no accessory brackets currently available; one US supplier could send one but the costs exceed the value of the bracket, totalling over $100 all in and then I notice this throwaway comment by Isidore and voila, my solution

It took a little searching on here to find Isidore's thread, but now I have located a UK supplier selling them for £5.56 each...about $20 all in. Great!
