I have read in another thread that it is possible to attach spacers and ATV wheels/tires to an i2 (Orange County Picnic)...

Has anyone actually done this?

Does anyone have pictures?

I am particularly looking for a parts list, but would appreciate it if someone could just point me in the right direction...

As a side note, I think it would be great for these parts to be sold as a kit - Possibly along with a quick/simple way to swap between "normal i2" mode and "off road i2" mode. :)

Thanks

Asif

If I'm wrong, then I stand corrected, but I think the software for the x2 is slightly different than for the i2. At least something in the back of my mind from the intro period is coming through regarding that.I have read in another thread that it is possible to attach spacers and ATV wheels/tires to an i2 (Orange County Picnic)...

Converted an i series to an XT for a friend.

Needed the fender kit (RH & LH fenders), tires and rims. I can't remember how much it cost for the parts.

The software was updated for an XT as well. Everything done at the dealer (with the help of the regional INC rep. on the software change) and it works great. But no intention of changing back so I can't comment on that aspect.

I was thinking more along the lines of what bystander posted here:
http://forums.segwaychat.com/showthread.php?t=16111

He mentions using the same diameter wheels, so that the software change should not be necessary to compensate for this difference, and spacers between the wheel hub and triangle mount so that the fenders are not in the way.

Thanks

In addition to the diameter issue, the XT software also makes it more agressive, knowing it will have better traction because of the tyres, and also an increased amount of air time allowed before triggering a "rider gone AWOL" situation when catching air. So, probably only noticable in a small number of situations. Personally, I'd go for it.
