Segway O.C. invites our customers and all other Segway enthusiasts to join us for a fun-filled afternoon in the Anaheim Hills Parade.
We will meet in the formation area at Canyon High School on Wednesday, July 4th.
Of course, we’ll all wear something red, white and blue. Some decorations will be available.
At the end of the parade there are festivities and food booths at Peralta Park, where we will be offering demo rides. The evening is capped by a fantastic fireworks display.
Call 714-630-7296 to be added to our list and we will advise you of the time to meet.

I signed up with Jim oif Segway OC yesterday for the 4th of July parade. I'm really looking forward to this one. I hear from those who have done this in the past that this is a great parade followed by food, fun, and fireworks. Can't wait!

Around 2 p.m. we will glide the reverse parade route to the formation area. You can meet us at Peralta Park before 2:00 (parking is VERY TIGHT), or meet us at the formation area at 2:30 (park across the street in the shopping center).

I want to give big thank you to Segway of Orange County. We had the best time. The parade was great. JIMBO made us look like pros doing serpentine maneuvers, turns, and reversals, throughout the parade route. It looked like we had practiced for weeks. Everyone was clapping and cheering as we went by. Seg OC had a booth and course set up for test glides. They were charging $3.00 for the glides and they donated every cent back to the events committee that puts this on each year. It was very well received by people at the park. Some kids came back several times, getting their parents to join in too. It was a lot of fun to watch.
The fireworks at the end of the day were spectacular. The best I have ever seen. The programmers for this event obviously spared no expense. It was G-R-E-A-T!!! I?m putting this one on my calendar for next year. Thank you, Jim, Liz, Dick, and Janice.

We all had a great time. Here is a link to the video, thanks to late hours of editing by Frank Peikert.

We will have a full HiDef version available on DVD in a few days.
Special thanks to Krystal Emrick's camera work and for risking her life and limb riding backwards in the SegShaw. Even more scary was that I was the glider who was towing her!
I would like to receive an e-mail with some stills. I believe "Segway Future" (Todd) got some good shots. I'll post them on our website along with the video.

How do you get HD footage on a DVD?

Perhaps he meant HDV?
HDV is the same bandwidth as DV25 and takes up no more space than any other DV/Firewire footage. It's no stretch to make an HDV DVD. Macs do it all the time.

I think it more likely he just meant that the video will look better than on youtube.

Perhaps. But then again, just about anything looks better than after it runs through that awful YouTube codec!

I, too, have a video. The Parade sadly is very bright, nothing I can really do there, but later on I finally fixed the problem and the demos look fine. It should be up once I learn how to use my new toy, Adobe Premiere.

No, Segsby. That is how you get HD video onto a blu-ray disc or an HD-DVD disc. My question was about DVD disc.

Oh.
You can take HD footage and easily import it into an editing package like Vegas Video or Final Cut Pro. It will look like expensive film, even though it's the same resolution as old DVD's. It looks like a very crisp film transfer with letterboxing.
