Well, after lurking here for several months, I finally stepped up and purchased 2 i2s for my wife and myself! I just got home from my first glide and all I can say is it was worth the wait! What a terrific way to get around! Rode bike paths past a couple of lakes in my community, sun shining, cool wind blowing and a big grin from ear to ear!

People I would pass would point and smile, and then a funny thing happened. I smiled back and said hello. With all the countless miles I've ridden on a bike, I've never been so friendly. I can honestly say that I feel more in tuned with my community. I love it!

By the way, a big thank you to Dick and Jim over at Orange County Segway here in Southern California. They made the purchase experience fun and informative. Great guys, both!

I'm truly looking forward to the miles of gliding to come!

I agree, Segway of OC is first rate - enthusiastic, friendly and helpful!

Congrats on your recent purchase... you're in for many hours of great fun, especially with two i2s under one roof. It's grand enough gliding by yourself, but even better when gliding in tandem.

Congrats on your new glide. There is nothing like it. I'm having the most fun I have had in years. Gliding alone or with a buddy is fantastic, but gliding with a group is even more fun. Have you ever seen a bunch of Harleys on a run? Well, that doesn't compare to a group glide, so come join us on July 1st. Okay, okay, maybe I'm overshooting it a bit, but it is great fun, and less dangerous.

Again, congratulations on you new i2's.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

Well, my wife and I had our first long glide yesterday of a little more than 13 miles and all I can say is, fantastic! We're both a little sore but it was well worth each little ache.

We started by doing an errand by gliding over to our local strip mall, you know, the one that you can never find a parking space in. We pulled up right in front of CVS, got in and out in less time than it's ever taken for me to park my car.

We then glided over to our post office to mail our latest Netflix movie, bypassing the filled parking lot and riding directly over to the mail box.

After that, we hopped on a network of bike paths to make a giant loop of our community, stopping a couple of times to stretch our legs and relax.

It's just amazing that these little machines can make even routine errands fun! Not to mention the countless smiles and greetings from those we encountered along the way.

What an absolute blast!

What the sales folks failed to tell you--hide more likely--is the added cost an owner incurs as a direct result of gliding on a Segway. With all that grinning, you might just as well get a monthly appointment with your dental hygenist to get all that bug juice off. Red key and flying ant season leads to even more expense. Have a ball!
