Hello to all in the segway world I am new to the forum and I have a need for somebody's opinion on what could be wrong with my segway
I own three HT67's and I am having an issue with one it will not come on this is what I have done so far
- re-set it by disconnecting the handlebars
- checked the batteries by changing them to one of our other segways
- and yes we have the right keys for it
can anyone please help us with this problem...

1. What do you mean by "will not come on"? I'm sure that's clear to you, but not to me. Do you mean that, when you put the key in the socket, absolutely nothing happens? Or does something happen, but not the correct thing?
2. What does your dealer say?
3. Try swapping the handlebar from one of your other Segways. Tell us if that changes anything.

you may also try the yellow or black keys, just in case. Are you getting beep, no start, or no beep?

This may sound stupid, but it's something my dealer warned me about, and the literature speaks about, although briefly.
Have you gone through any "security" in libraries, post offices, stores, etc.?
The owner's literature for my i180 says, when going through those security poles, to get off, turn off, walk the unit through, and not to restart the unit until "clear" of the security system. Apparently, some of the systems utilize extremely powerful magnetics, and that magnetic field can "wipe" the motherboard/processor of the unit.

These devices emit a weak electromagnetic field, but at certain frequencies that may interfere with the Segway's electronics. There's no way to damage the Segway, the worst thing that could happen should be a safety shutdown.
I think the Gen II are more tolerant because they lack the wiring and electronics in the control shaft and handlebar (acting as an "antenna" on Gen I models).

ok I think I am going to try some of your suggestions and see what happens
If It doesnt work I might call the segway dealer in columbus ohio and see if we can re-load the software in this segway. thanks

.. liked a a cracked/shorted wiring harness beneath the connectors in the steering column. Happens to many of the original model Ht's. If the handlebars are constantly being moved up/or all the way down, the wiring will chafe and crack. Some here have fixed this themselves, involves much work or you can send it back to the factory. Good luck!
