My name is Salli Kirkland and you might know me as Billy’s bike riding spouse.
He is a Segway dealer and Seghead and I am a biker (bicycler, that is) who raises money to fight blood related cancers for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. All of us athletes in LLS’ Team in Training Program get personalized training all the way to our event and along the way we try to accomplish our personal goals. Mine are: to train hard to complete the 109 mile Tour de Tucson Bike Ride on November 17, and to raise $6000.00 for LLS to research cancer cures and to directly help children and families affected with blood cancers, AND to meet others along the way and help them in their training and fundraising.
I am happy to say that I have inspired.( or convinced) 2 other employees here at Billy’s Bikes to set goals along with me. Chris, our store manager, will be doing the Tucson Ride with me and Sara (our Segway Tour Guide) is doing a TRIATHALON in Disney World in September.
I am selling raffle tickets for a NEW SEGWAY I2. I am selling only 200 at $50.00 each. I raffled a Segway last year and we had a great time pulling the winning ticket! The winner was there in the audience and she was a Phys Ed teacher! I am hoping this year the winner will live in a fabulous place that I can visit to present the Segway!
Actually, the winning Segway will include shipping in the lower 48 states. Winner will be responsible for delivery to any other destination. To order raffle tickets go to our website www.segwaysanibel.com/segway/ and follow instructions on the home page. All major credit cards accepted. I will mail your ticket stub/s along with your receipt. The price of the ticket will apply towards a Segway tour with us, so hold onto it and plan a trip to Sanibel! We sold our first two tickets to Martin Butler who is starting a Segway tour in Dubin, Ireland

Thanks to all who have placed an order for the raffle tickets? Salli my wife will be sending out your tickets. You don't have to be present to win. We will call the winner when we pull the winning ticket that night. We have not set a date or time yet. We hope to have a party and raised more money that night to help Chris and Sara with there goals. The total money the three needs is $12,200.00. They have a lot of work to do so they can reach their goal.

Last night my wife was telling me how she thought it would fun to deliver the segway to someone like in Ireland, Switzerland, Austria and the list goes on. This whole fundraiser may be major expense for me. We are planning a trip to Iowa this summer, we will have our Segway trailer in tow with several Segways. My wife’s family has a reunion every two years with over hundred family members their. For some reason I seem to be more popular when I show up with the Segways at these events. When I know our route and plans I will post it and maybe we can stop and do glide with another Segway chat member.

Ticket sales are going pretty well. Have sold about35 so far. Stubs and reciepts have gone in the snail mail. I usually scan and email to those out of country but something is wrong with my scanner. Will get those out as soon as Billy fixes it. Thanks Marc..the chocolate was great and I BARELY shared it!
My first group ride is next Sat. Been trying to ride early in the a.m. for practice..it's hot here..will be a long hot summer of biking ahead....You all must get hot on your Segways, least I can ride 20mph and make some breeze! Have you ever tried to attach an umbrella for shade? Billy comes home from tours sometimes looking pretty red...maybe a misting fan????

Will there be a cutoff date to buy raffle tickets? Id just like to know when I should buy a couple more :D.

I personally still have the problem that I don't receive the password update e-mail for my existing store account. I sent an e-mail and a PM (personal message on this forum) to Billy but no response. I added the domain to my whitelist. I opened a case with my e-mail provider to check if there's something wrong with their global spam filter setup.

I registered for a second account and got the welcome mail. Then I made the mistake and pressed the "Forgot my password" button for a test... of course there was NO E-MAIL IN MY INBOX and the account is now blocked too (password resetted). :mad: I changed the routing for this particular e-mail address (to avoid possible filtering issues) to a Hotmail mailbox but nothing, nada. The password reset function doesn't send out mails! :mad:

In the meanwhile I convinced a colleague to buy two tickets (opening a new account worked so far). He didn't receive the stubs yet (after three weeks or so). Of course his Amex card was charged promptly...

I still miss the closing/drawing date. I think at least in Europe it's not legal to sell raffle tickets without announcing a fixed drawing date...

I can't and wont speak for Billy, but if you read this forum you may have noticed it looks like Billy is on vacation. He has had some post under BILLK in central texas. So things may be running slow without them there right now. I am mearly speculating.

My wife and I will be leaving on vacation in about 2 weeks. We have sold about 100 tickets so far. If anyone has order a ticket and not received it please let me know.

I have to go fight another city (Fort Myers Beach) tonight at 6:30 for the use of Segways for private and Tours. I thing all we go well their safety board after I gave them a demo and answer what seem like 100 questions said they would recommend for approval but you never know. Will post later about the out come?
