I think that we often don't say anything nice when good things happen, here's my chance to give a public thanks for some GREAT customer service.
Two weekends ago I purchase a used i180 from Segway of Oakland. I got a good price and the unit appears to be in great shape. The unit I bought was part of the slide4less rental fleet
The moment I got it home I started surfing the net for "extras" to customize the look a little. I noticed the silver splash guards on some of the i180s and found some on e-bay. I'm sure the ones that came with the unit were long since removed and lost, no big deal.
So I "bought now" on e-bay and just a few days later I got the splash guards with four screws and washers. But the washer they sent were a little too small.
Back to the net and sure enough, it's not supposed to have regular washers, but oval brass ones.
So yesterday I called Segway of Oakland on the phone. I asked "Hey, do you guys have any of those brass washers that hold on the splash guards?"
"Yea, I save them, we take off the splash guards cause they just get torn up" he said. He offered to send me a set.
This evening I got home, and sure enough in my mailbox a white envelope with four washers and screws!
Overnight service! THANKS!
These guys are GREAT!
Here's a huge pat on the back from me!!!
If you live in the SF Bay Area, give Segway of Oakland a shout...

It has to be a virus......and a lot of the Segway dealers are contaminated.....
I bought a GT from Rick, Corvalis.
I went all the way from Olympia because the dealer in Seattle did no expect to get one until June or July, the golf season is not very long in WA.
The Info Key had some problems, he got me one overnight from Segway!!!!
.
The hauler was not vailable, he sold me at discount price the ramps, which he and my self knew , with my back problems was not the best choice,!!!!
Now, they have an adapter, he is getting it for me, shipping a hauler with the adapter installed and he is going to take the ramps back.
When I offer to sell them back half a price, he said "No, I was not sure they would work for you, I take them for the same price you pay me, I like to take care of my clients" !!!!!!
I do not know what to say....... It got to be a disease, and so far you only find it in some Segway dealers, beleive me.

Bingo, I too got splash guards from DSI-GEAR with very small round washers. I already ranted about Segway's engineers, but they're not original??

Yea, the little washers are not original. The brass ovals I got from the dealer worked great.

Over a year ago, I bought a trailer from Segway of NM after extensive research into what was available on the market. Essentially, they converted a pull-behind bike trailer and modified the hitch to work with a segway. I was skeptical about whether it could pull the load I wanted to for an upcoming long distance glide. But they assured me that with a floor panel, it was up to the task.
Since then I've taken it on many trips including Burning Man. I've "used" the trailer. I've even bought replacement parts because I didn't want to be caught unprepared when something wore out or snapped due to heavy usage. Then something unfortuante happened...
A weld broke on the frame. Now I don't have the capability (nor the experience to know the best way) to fix this, so I called Shawn. With absolutely no hassle, he quickly agreed to fix it if I would pay for the shipping. I did so, and he did extensive repairs that went far beyond just "putting a new tongue on it". He actually removed cross members and welded new ones in place. This had become a large task. Shawn neither complained nor asked for something to cover his additional time. Most importantly, he did all this work promptly, and I have the trailer frame back in my hands within 2 weeks. He certainly met all my expectations.
I also found Shawn to be quite flexible when I added a pair of his spinners to my order. Since the accident, I'd been eyeing them on Ebay off and on. He happily threw them in with the trailer frame to save on shipping, and shipped everything back to me carefully and exactly how I requested!
ps - I've read on this forum in the past how people may have had problems dealing with Shawn (or maybe how he does business overall), and I'd been apprehensive about doing business with him. But in some cases, he was the only supplier who could give me what I needed.
Well, at this point I've done several deals with him. Not just cut-and-dry deals, but ones that required customer care and attention to details. Shawn has lived up to all my expectations, and I feel I can recommend him (and this just isn't based on one single datapoint)! I look forward to dealing with him in the future...heck, I may end up finishing a future long distance glide at his shop!!
