Hi:
New member here. I am planning on buying an i2 sometime in the next few weeks. I have never seen any in my area in Newport RI and wondering where the nearest fellow Segway owners would be.
I apologize if there was an easier way to locate members by area through a search.
Also any heavy duty buyers remorse after you made the purchase? Do you use it enough to justify the $$ spent? and lastly how long would an i2 last me? (miles, years)? I realize this depends on a lot of my driving habits.
Thanks everyone, look forward to becoming part of the community.

to visit my friends who live in town. I love using the Segway in Newport.
I know they lost the opportunity to have a Segway Tour operation in Newport, sad.
If you get to Annapolis, come visit us.
Only buyers remorse is that folks who buy one, did not buy two, so they could go gliding with someone.
Summer is here, Newport Traffic is Mean, Glide on a Segway!

I'm in Warwick, RI once a month. Does that count? ;-)
Seriously, though, if SegwayBoston stopped being defunct, maybe we could have a meeting in Newport. Plenty of people ride Vespas through the town already.
Karl, if you're reading this, what do you think?

I am in driving distance to Most all of Rhode Island. (I live in the North suburbs of Boston)
I am up for most any glide. Let me know when and where, and I will do my best to be there...
As far as SEG Boston, I agree, it is not active, or at least I am unaware of any activity at this point... I am willing and ready to support any local persons who wish to organize. Let me know, and I will help...

Thanks for the responses.
Will: I did not know the the city council nixed the Segway tour proposal. I remember reading the article when the tour operator (don't know who it is) proposed it and all the ignorance the council showed. A few, when asked if they wanted to try it, said they were not getting on that "thing".
So many people with closed minds to new technology, it is scary.
I love Newport (born and raised) and I think this is an ideal city for gliding because of the scenery, traffic congestion, etc. I am just concerned of the local constabulary's reaction to the Segway.
Karl:
I am in Boston area 5-6x month. I will keep you posted when I make purchase.
Thanks everyone.

It looks like good weather this weekend. I have one spare segway, or at least I have an i2 and an e-167. It is quite possible for many out there reading this that they have not tried either....
There are lots of us in the corridor between North Boston suburbs and south Rhode Island suburbs...
Anyone up for a glide or a chance to try some other segs? Let's put something together... Post a suggestion...
