If you're designing a web site and need some technical help, post your questions here and hopefully someone can provide some assistance or advice :)
By the way, if any teams want me to host their team's forum - I will do so.

Frank -
Would you please e-mail me or post the specifics on hosting a forum. I'm not sure whether or not I will need one, but I would like the information in case I come to a point where the web site requires one.
Thanks,
Kyle
P.S. If you need any help answering any questions, give me a holer (<---is that how you spell that????) and I'll be glad to help

What I could do for FIRST teams is create a forum here at SegwayChat for any team that needs one. This would be a unique forum with your team's name. All you team members could join that forum, and it could me made to be private so only your team can read/post. This could be good for team brainstorming sessions... leaving messages to one another. Plus, you have the added bonus of talking to other teams/mentors in the public FIRST forum where you can ask each other questions and get advice.

well i am a team member and i would like to look into getting a team forum up that is protected. it can set up an area other than the glitchy e-mail system we have now. it would be very helpful so if you can post the specifics or something i would find that very helpful. i will present them to my team mentor and leader as well as get them on here!

Our team subscribes to Yahoo! Groups (www.yahoogroups.com). Security is built in since members must be granted permission by the moderator (who initially creates the group).
It is up to the user if they want to log onto the group 'site in order to view posts -or- posts can automatically be e-mailed. File sharing is also an Available option. It's all free and it works well for team 991.

Sure, no problem. Just e-mail me the following information and I'll create a team forum for you:
1) Your team's name
2) Team number
3) Home state
4) School you represent
5) Whether or not you need this forum to be private. If you need it to be private, only your team members will be able to read/post to the forum. Any other SegwayChat user won't be able to read your posts so if you have strategy secrets.. or other confidential information.. other teams won't be able to read it. However, if you choose to make it public.. then other people can chime in and offer suggestions and collaborate with your team members.
Of course if you make it private, you still have access to the other forums like our FIRST forum :) You could always post questions in there...

Hi, I may have written some of you, but itlooks like I may post here, also. I've started a page which I think has some possibility in the future, but if that's so, I would expect it to develop slowly, as more and more people purchase their Segways. For me it has been my major dream in the last year, and I think that there may well become a subgroup of people who are not wheelchair canditates, but who would well benefit from the Segway in getting around. There are only two of us who I know of right now and there may be a third at this point. Over the course of time, I can imagine that we could become a subgroup. I am thinking that we may look at the Segway differently than the dominant group(s). We may want to share stories, experiences, points of view of our own. I would like to see if that may be so. My page is: http://webpages.charter.net/tkufahl/tkufahl/publish2/segway_handicapped.htm and I'm wondering if anyone might want to put my link at their sites for those who may be looking, or who may benefit from it. I have done this by dropping messages in the arthritis groups for Still's Disease, and the group organized themselves into "The international Still's Disease Foundation" and has been a solid, close knit group that is like a life line for some of us. I can't say I'm sure that will happen here, but I should like to see if the need or wish might be there. Maybe we'll be to busy gliding, though :) Thanks, tak Tom
