We had a great time here in Washington DC for the last two days as DRAFT was back at it getting more injured vets up on the Segway

I just gave a demo ride yesterday to a gentleman with diabetes who had lost his toes. Probably in his 60s, he's quite active as the president of his condo association, and having to get around his building frequently, but quite hampered with his disability and having to use a cane to walk.
Though the Segway isn't meant for the severely disabled or "old people" in general, there are never the less many for whom it "makes sense." These are the people who yet have sufficient mental and physical faculties and agility to be able to control the machine. They can grasp the Segway concept and can therefore be substantially comfortable in controlling it.
It's always a pleasure to see the light of realization turn on in their eyes as they start to "get it." They start to relax and want to take off with their new-found freedom of motion. It's as much of a thrill for me as it is for them.
