Hey.. Do anyone still remember about the i2 bumper that was mount on the handle where it prevent from any fell or leading on the wall from scatches? Casue I remember when i2 firstly launched the 3D photo and even physical looks there is a bumper on it for the marketing of the product.. But it seem to be gone and never appear again..
The image can be found on their website.. I do have the picture.. I am sorry I just dont know how to insert it.

No problem. We know part you're refering to. And yes, it was removed from the Commuter Package, along with the KickStand.
I have no idea what status the Bumper is in at this point. But I would expect it to arrive after the kickstand, if it shows up at all.

This is old news by now but the plastic protrusion on the i2 / x2 handlebar bag now acts as this "bumper."
Still not a consolation for those (like me) who prefer going bagless... (I am referring to the Segway, and not a vacuum cleaner) :D

The logo / bumper on the redesigned bag should be soft rubber.
It would help hold the machine up when you lean it.. And would last longer. Mine is getting all skuffed up and shedding from usage.

Has anyone thought about sticking a tougher strip of rubber to that plastic "bumper" on the new bag? Maybe affix it with some double sided tape, so that when the affixed rubber gets worn, the user and replace it with another?

I have some material I use to make graphics on the sides of Motorcross bikes that is about 12mils thick, that woud work for covering areas that you might not want to get scratched, Since I'm still waiting to purchase my X2 I have not been able to work up any patterns for graphics, But if I get a chance friday I'll go by and see what I can come up with for a protection decal I can cut for the area.
This material is very durable.

What about that rubber for dipping the handles of tools. Could that be brushed onto a surface of the i2?

You are correct that after putting up the front bag where there is a little rubber strip to prevent from scratches.. but that will not last you too long.. putting additional rubber like using a double type.. seem to have ugly that sweetie "with injury'?:p The bumper that I mention looks too sleek and cool. But of course if you have the front bag.. it will just defeat the purpose of placing the bumper.

(a very low level indeed, to hear much of anything - I get all my news from the SEG America board meetings)
Is that the bumper is history, Stan should have grabbed that one at fesT when he had the chance!
Segway had so much trouble with the parking stand, finding a manufacturer, that it would be interesting if the "bumper" ever makes it into production.
It looks cool, but like the Segway Lock, if you have it, what use does it do when you have a bag. The Segway lock and the Lean Steer release are really not compatable when used together either!
And if you want the bumper on the bag to look pristine, then don't lean the machine up against anything. I have run into a very few people who really keep their Segways in "perfect" "show" condition. The I-2 Bag is to be used, and when it is beat up and looking crappy, get another one!

I lean my i2 bag bumper against trees, light poles, parking meters, fences, etc. while locked to these objects all the time. I'm just careful, and it doesn't take much of a beating. If there's a significant mark on it, I just buff it a bit and it looks fine.

Wah.. Thats such a pity to be annouced that the bumper may not be in production.. Whoever have it right now could be really priceless:) Changing of the looks of the bag for the replacement of the damage or well.. better looks.. it could be sort of cosy.. than a kick stand could just save some of that funds.
