As always, here's some pics of a new item. If you look in your Gen:2 catalog you'll notice the i2's have the 'aluminium mat' but ended up shipping with the mats meant for the x2. So, here are the new 'Alumium Mats' (more info on these coming soon!).

Enjoy!

Here are some shots comparing the three mats, so you can get an idea of thickness/size:

As I said, more info to follow...but let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks, Jared, for sharing the latest info with us.

I find that last shot very revealing in terms of highlighting the thickness of the comfort mats. Can't wait to get mine.

Looking at all three, I think I made the right decision, although it's function over form for me this time, I think the aluminium mats would look the best up close and personal (providing they're clean!). What do you think Jared? Which is the best looking mat?

Am I right in guessing the ride given by the alloy mat is more jarring than the standard issue?

Gareth,

I just put a few miles on these mats (on an i2), and I have to say I like them. Are they a rougher ride than the other two? Without a doubt! But, that sometimes has its place. It's the same reason that, whenever I have a choice I'll take an i2 over an x2. I feel more in control and I feel the unit is more responsive. That's how I felt with these mats.

The look great. Performance-wise, I'd say they're no better or worse than the comfort mats, just different!

:::EDIT::: Also, I just got a reponse to my question from Inc. These will remain an accessory only, and will NOT become the standard iSeries mat.
