Hey all,
Here are some pics I took of the new Gen:1 Enhanced Traction Tires we got in. I haven't seen much of these, so I assumed others hadn't either. They are essentially a Gen:2 Tire on a Gen:1 rim.
Differences:
-They ARE tubeless!
-They have reflective decals on the Wheel Inserts.
Let me know if anyone has any questions.
Enjoy!

They look like the GT tyres we have on the i Series Golf machines. I am pretty sure that the GT tyes are tubed as we rarely have to check the tyre pressue, unlike the i180 tyres. I have thought that the i2 is essentially an evolution of the GT using the Enhanced Traction Tyres, better traction software and the new leansteer.
The GT is a fantastic machine and we have had them out in some of the most miserable conditions on Golf courses over here. Mud and wet slippery grass pose very little problem even with me and my Golf Bag.
To be honest we like the GT so much that we have kept four of them for our own use, media, advertising, and messing round on.

Yes, the Gen:1 GT model had the older ETT's towards the first half of its production life, but then moved to these as production plans were heading towards Gen:2.

I was under the impression that the tread pattern is the same for the standard tire, and for the enhanced traction tire. The difference is in the rubber (Silicone) compounds...
Are these the silicone or the rubber? How can a person tell?

The standard tires are clearly marked as non marking, and I would assume that the ETT's are not marked as such. Other than that, I doubt there's a way to tell. I like the way the Gen 2 tires look on my 180.

Wouldn't the silicone tire be less inclined to "powder" when you rub against it, than the rubber tire?

The tires on my I-2 have a white sticker that states Non-Marking.
I did not see that sticker on Jared's picture of the tire.
I will have to check out a Gen One Golf Model that is in the shop and see what it has to say on it's tires, because they look just like those.
Interesting about them being tubeless, then it must be something about the Gen One rim, as the I-2 rims and tires have tubes.

Whats the price and can they be had on other, 167/170 rims, or just the nasty 180's ?
Or just the tire ?

Funny you say that, Tarkus, I still prefer the look of these wheels to those on the i167 and i2.

I also like the look of the 180 wheels better. It's the pain in the butt to add air that I don't care for.

Is Michelin still making the tires, or has INC found another supplier? I only see a Segway logo on the new tires.

I recall hearing it was a different supplier for gen2. Dunno who makes them though.

I'm curious...
Are you guys selling tubes for i2 tire repairs, or just selling the complete rim with tire premounted, for $130 ?

Let me try to answer some of the questions here...to the best of my ability:
-These are not EXACTLY the same tires as the i2. Obviously they're tubeless. The tread pattern is a perfect match but the side of the ETT says "enhanced traction' where as the side of the i2 tire has the smart motion logo. Also, the don't have the white/grey decal like the side of the i2 tire (I can provide pics of this if anyone needs them). They appear to be the same compound, but it's hard to tell in a showroom. I'll verify this with Inc. on Monday.
-Can they be mounted on i167/i170 wheels. Sure! Even back when the old ETT's were available we had several occasions where people preferred the old rims, and we'd just swap out the rubber!
-They don't appear to be made by Michelin. If they are, Michelin's info is nowhere to be found on the rubber. I seem to recall word of the new tire maker, but I can't remember who it is at this moment.
-Tarkus, they're $189.95 each. That's tire and rim. If you have some i167/i170 wheels laying around, i'd be happy to put the rubber on those rims if you'd like.
Let's see...did I miss anything?

Okay...so I made a mistake.
I was taking a closer look at the new Gen:1 ETT's and the ARE tubed.
I was originally looking at the product sheet for this tire, and it says tubeless, but closer inspection of the tire itself it is a 'tube type'.
