I just got home from work, and there's a rather large box in my living room!

Woo Hooo! YES!!

We have company coming over for the "unboxing" party, so I won't be around for a while, but I just wanted to let you all know that Brooster finally has his ride!

The day has come, and I couldn't be happier!

Thank you Segway LLC!

Broo

Congrats Brooster! Way to go! You've got to be fully charged by now and on the road!!

Isn't it amazing! The only thing better than trying one for the first time with friends from SegwayChat at training, is having your very own in your kitchen! I got up twice last night just to take it for a spin around the dining room.

It's like getting a bicycle for christmas; it's snowy and cold outside because it's December, but you're happy just to have it and sit on it in the house!!

Best of luck...Wayne & Ginger

Time does indeed fly, 4-Seg.

Back in the "old days," (June 11, 2002) after you and I had our very first rides here in Chicago, the day we could have our own Segway HT seemed so far off. As I write this, I look to my right and see one sitting right next to me. I look at the design, and it just blows me away. For the first time, I'm able to see it, touch it, and contemplate what must have gone into it ... on my own time.

I've not even ridden this machine yet, and I feel like I already have a better understanding of what Segway LLC means by "depth."

Thanks for all of your congrats, everyone ... they sure mean a lot to me. This is a great time for me, and a great time for SegwayChat. Stay tuned!

Lady4Seg (she's from Fresno CA) is not too happy she cannot be here for this awesome moment. Then again she's not to happy I took the control shaft and handle bars placed them on HER pillow! ;) LOL... JUST KIDDING!!! All is green and smiling in St. Louis.

Looks like I'm not getting any sleep again tonight!

Well if you all don't know how to make a woman cry!

I'm sitting here-waiting- for my Segway to arrive. I first saw Dean with his a year ago during the FIRST Seattle Regional; never did I imagine I would own one. Being as mine was a surprise from my father (who doesnt DO surprises) I am even more shocked. What kills me is that IT IS SITTING IN A WAREHOUSE WAITING! Only 10 more hours until it arrives. I am excited and elated and, yes, extremely jealous, of all of those who already have their Segways. And for those who must still wait longer- I'll pray for patience for you. But right now the anticipation is killing me and all the wonderful nostalgia that's been posted is making me crazy. I just hope tomorrow is as adventure-laden as your's seems to be.

No, I think it's the domed football stadium where they'll have the 2006 Super Bowl after Segway LLC makes billions from selling millions of Segways! [8D]

Update: I've decided that I want to buy a helmet (probably tonight, after dinner) before I do my "maiden voyage" outdoors. In the meantime, our Segway HT is still pretty cool to look at, even standing still! I have ridden it around inside the house a bit. :)

We have to go to a wedding tomorrow (Saturday), so it looks like Sunday will be the "big day." If it's not snowing ... It's really cold here in Chicago. I'm definitely ready for winter to end!

Well, I have my helmet, the weather has warmed up by a few degrees, and there's a big well-lit parking lot right next door to my condo building. I can't wait much longer! When March 1st arrives in another hour and 15 minutes, I'll be celebrating with my very first outdoor ride on my new Segway HT!

This is gonna be great!

Wow! What a first real ride!

I spent a little time in the aforementioned parking lot, and then actually went for a little sidewalk cruise along Lake Shore Drive ... all very well lit areas. What an awesome machine, and what a way to bring in March 1st. I just couldn't be happier.

:D

A night to remember indeed, Mark. I forgot to mention that I've given my first demo ride ... to a really nice gal named Katherine, who just happened to be walking up the sidewalk at 12:30am and see me practicing turns in the parking lot. I think she felt the instant addiction like the rest of us Segway Nuts. :)

Brooster, Your midnight ride sounded adventurous! I have opened a bottle of Clos Du Bois 2001 Chardonnay and made a toast to your ride and to the safety of all Segway HT riders in the future! As PT would say, "Cheers!"
