View Full Version : So is LeanSteer on the i2 "fun"?

This isn't to say that previous generations were any less fun in general and I should say up front that I've never ridden any model so I have no frame of reference. However, I kind of like the LeanSteer idea. The description someone had of "street skiing" sounds pretty cool. Not that I think you would be leaning on a PT the way slalom skiers carve up the slopes, but I imagine that the action involved is cool. For those who have been testing, what do you think of the fun factor? I ask because my interest in the i2 is recreational only and almost certainly all on road. The x2 does look cool but I've never been a nature trail kinda guy.

Let me be the first to comment that the i2 leansteer is a ton more FUN than the gen 1... But it's also a bit of a workout.

It's not like "power steering" it takes some oomph when you're hard turning.

Way more fun.

It feels more like you're steering with your feet, rather than your body. It's hard to explain. You really have to feel it!

Sal,

This might actually be a plus and a selling feature for me. Since my use is recreational, the more fun the better. I certainly don't mind a workout and this aspect could give the unit a "sporty" feel and appeal, which I would welcome. This really is starting to sound more and more like it's for me.

It's funny that it is a little 'workout'. I think the big difference is that you can't pull yourself out of the lean by "pulling" on the handlebar, you have to use your core muscles to get out of the lean. It's embarassing saying it's a workout but it is much more physically chanllenging than currently. Still not "skiing" but nonetheless it's a little more serious.

Scott,

Thanks for the additional perspective. Yeah, I wouldn't think the experience would replace serious exertion for activities like skiing or mountain biking, but having enough action to make you really get into the ride would be fun. Since you're my local dealer, I'll probably be in touch to schedule a test drive sometime soon.

I look forward to it Jeff. We have all the ramps and bumps to compare the i2 to the i180 and you'll fully understand how everything works. Call me anytime.
